"Judith Turner-Yamamoto has perfected the magic of drawing a reader into a world, the inner lives of two Southern women grieving loved ones -- one a young widow, still young enough to miss high school, so haunted by the missing body of her lover/husband that she seeks a replacement whose body seems inhabited by the dead man. The other an aging mother whose bitterness, whose inability to love her own daughter, are peeled back like an onion to a place of tears and tenderness and devastation..." ~Reviewer
