We're here for the second course in a potential 20 course meal of daily podcasts. So if we were in a posh tasting menu we're still in the canapes. Much like this Test match as everything is about to get interesting. England post 555-8 at the close of play and soon it will be the job of Virat Kohli's men to try and match it on a pitch resembling the main road from Chennai to Bengaluru. Then we can all celebrate a draw.

India vs. England lies glistening on the horizon as England have gone through their paces with a competent showing in Galle led by an irrepressible Joe Root. A substitution comes in today as level-headed India expert Sach is replaced by Max, leading to far more chaos, and honestly the most variable quality of content we've ever produced. The fine line between complete guff and bold thinking is frequently leapt over further than Jonathan Edwards in his pomp.

💥Wow, wow, wow. A whole *checks watch* 8 days after it came to its thrilling conclusion we are finally here to run through India's stunning victory over Australia with the finest of tooth combs. Gill, Pant, Pujara, Thakur, Washington, Siraj. Heroes every last one of them as India power through at the Gabba with even more aplomb than Britain's rapid vaccine rollout. Shouts to both the civil service and Aussie comms somehow still demanding that Cheteshwar play with more 'intent' for spurring on both those results.

Sach has finally calmed down and there's almost *too* much narrative to tuck into. Captaincy questions everywhere, sheer Indian depth, Gabba defeat and captain questions for both sides. India head to Australia and the Kiwis welcome West Indies, but our focus today is England in South Africa. Mumbai Indians. Mumbai Bloody Indians. They're a bit good that lot. Off the back of a record breaking season in the IPL we simply have to bask in their unremitting greatness for half an hour and soak in this year's final. Expect acclaim for Boult and Bumrah, the openers, middle order and everything which makes up the complete T20 team.
