This week on the podcast, we take a break from talking about dance music and dive into the rich, layered history of blink-182.

I'm joined by my older brother, Nick, who helped introduce me to the rock trio in 2006. Little did I know they would be my first music love.

Nick and I do our best to bring you through the ups and downs of being a blink fan over the years, including the breakups, reunions, plane crashes, side projects, UFOs, cancer diagnosis, and a world tour in 2023.

It was both epic and surreal to see our musical heros, in all their glory, last week in Brooklyn.

On this week's episode, I chat with Tim Bonito - owner and cofounder of NV Concepts, VP of Talent at Big Night, and Managing Partner at Big Night Talent.

Tim has seen it all in the dance music industry, from bringing Tiesto to college shows in the New England area, booking artists for Big Night's premier nightclubs/venues, and forming friendships with some of the biggest dance music artists in the world.

Tim shares stories of the early days of EDM, taking a chance on the genre before anyone knew where it would go, and how Big Night operates at such a high level. His insight and experience made for an amazing conversation. I could have heard him tell stories all day long.

Back from an epic weekend in Miami for Ultra Music Festival, this week on the podcast I give my full takeaways from the three days of epic music. In this week's episode, I chat with Playlist Curator, Sami Weisband (@theweisestband), about Fred Again.. X Skrillex X Four Tet's takeover of New York City and their 5 hour rave at Madison Square Garden. 

Sami is a previous writer for Dancing Astronaut, has been featured On Air with Ryan Seacrest, has interviewed some of the biggest artists in music (including Fred Again.. himself), and has made a business out of creating playlists based on color, mood, and emotion. I am so grateful for her time and insight on why this was such a special moment for Dance Music.

This weeks episode focuses on Jeffrey Sutorius and his incredible passion and approach to Dance Music. Formerly the frontman for Dash Berlin, Sutorius has persevered through legal disputes and naming rights, but that hasn't stopped him from bringing everything he can to his fans and followers of his euphoric and epic music. He continues to perform and produce under Jeffrey Sutorius and deserves to be recognized for building Dash Berlin and always presenting his high-energy music with the same level of enthusiasm and passion.  

He will always be one of Andrew's favorites and deserved an episode dedicated to his work.

This week Kbubs returns to the podcast this week to talk change, ego, creative process, the EDM landscape, and putting modern twists on dance music classics.

Kbubs recently wiped his entire social media - starting a new chapter for his music project. I loved getting some insight to his approach and excitement towards the music he is making and can’t wait to follow him in 2023.

What a year it has been. In this episode, I am joined by Ross Goldenberg, managing editor at Dancing Astronaut to talk some dance music. 

Dancing Astronaut in my opinion, is THE primary source for dance music news on the internet. I have been following them for years and consider them a major inspiration for even starting the X You Podcast. Their coverage, artist profiles, interviews, blogs, concert recaps and playlist have always been top notch and never miss. I couldn't think of a better way to wrap up 2022 than chatting with them on the podcast. 

Ross tells me about his journey into dance music and what it's like working behind the scenes at Dancing Astronaut. We then get into their year end awards, including label of the year, artist of the year, breakout artists, and top songs that are on their year end playlist. We also give our thoughts on what dance music will look like in 2023 and artist we are excited about. 

I want to thank Ross and the entire DA team for being so cool and open to coming on the podcast and talking music. They have always been interactive and supportive ever since I have started the podcast, and I will continue to look to them for the high standard to hold myself to when it comes to talking about the electronic music scene.
