Howard Bloom, a Visiting Scholar at New York University, is founder of the International Paleopsychology Project, executive editor of the New Paradigm book series, a founding board member of the Epic of Evolution Society, and a member of the New York Academy of Sciences, the National Association for the Advancement of Science, the American Psychological Society, the Human Behavior and Evolution Society, The International Society of Human Ethology, and the Academy of Political Science. He has been featured in every edition of Who's Who in Science and Engineering since the publication's inception. Bloom has taken an unusual approach to the study of mass moods and cultural convolutions. He started out normally enough, building his first Boolean algebra machine at the age of twelve, becoming a dedicated microscopist that same year, codesigning a computer which won a Westinghouse Science Award before he left grade school, and being granted a private brainstorming session with the head of the Graduate Physics Department of The State University of New York, Buffalo, at the age of thirteen. By sixteen he was a lab assistant at the world's largest cancer research center, the Roswell Park Memorial Research Cancer Institute, where he helped plumb the mysteries of the immune system. And before his freshman year of college he designed and executed research in Skinnerian programmed learning at Rutgers University's Graduate School of Education. Then came an act of academic heresy. After graduating magna cum laude and Phi Beta Kappa from New York University, Bloom turned down four graduate fellowships and embarked on a 20-year-long urban anthropology expedition to penetrate what he calls "society's myth-making machinery"--the inner sanctums of politics and the media. During his foray into "the dark underbelly of mass emotion" he edited a magazine which won two National Academy of Poets prizes, founded the leading avant-garde art studio on the East Coast, was featured on the cover of Art Direction Magazine, then gave up listening to Beethoven, Bartok, and Mozart to become editor of a rock magazine. Using correlational studies, focus groups, empirical surveys, ethnographic expeditions into suburban teen subcultures, and other scientific techniques, Bloom more than doubled the publication's sales, and was credited by Rolling Stones' Chet Flippo with having founded a new genre--the heavy metal magazine. Seeking still further ways to infiltrate modernity's mass mind, Bloom formed a public relations firm in the music and film industry and won the confidence of those whose territory he'd invaded. The payoff in knowledge proved invaluable. As an author, Lura Ketchledge completed a fictional paranormal romance book series titled The Near-Death Saga. Lura started Ketchledge Publishing L.L.C. in 2018. She grew up in Ormond Beach, Florida, Northern Virginia and lived in Key Largo. She moved to New York City as a young adult, then to the beautiful horse country of Lexington, Kentucky where she began the long journey of writing her novels. Lura uses all of these places as the setting of her book series. Lura studied art at the New School of Social Research in New York City. She worked on ‘The Joe Franklin Show’ late night TV talk show in NYC. Lura studied under Hollywood screenwriter Charles Edward Pogue. She later wrote, produced and directed her first movie, a zombie comedy Another Apocalyptic Zombie Movie and incorporated AAZM Pictures L.L.C. in 2018. Lura also produced two episodes for the PBS television show ‘Functional Fitness’. Lura has been part of the horse world, either owning horses or living on a horse farm for most of her adult life. Realizing it is not enough to write a book series or make a movie to get an agent, Lura embarked on her own guerilla marketing campaign. Lura Ketchledge’s haunted horse farm was featured in 'Time Money Land' magazine in 2011. Since 2009 she has been on over 150 national radio shows, including ‘The X Zone,’ and written a number of first person articles for a variety of on-line magazines. In 2011 she was a featured guest on the reality TV show ‘My Ghost Story’. Lura shared her ghost story in episode 12 of season 2 titled, ‘Haunted Horse Farm’. In 2012 'My Ghost Story Caught on Camera’ created a show titled ‘The Ghost-man Always Rings Twice’ and was episode 69 of season six that aired in August of 2013. Lura is the only guest on ‘My Ghost Story’ to be invited back to do a second show. As an artist, Lura painted the Near-Death Experience Inspired Art series using a combination of naïve art technique, plagiaristic collage and impressionism. Each of her seven paintings have a correlating articles and narrated videos. After being seen on CBS, ABC, NBC and Fox news, different teams of ghost hunters conducted four separate paranormal investigations at her horse farm. All the teams had positive findings, including audible EVP’s, photographs and multiple documented videos of orb activity, thereby confirming the validity of Lura’s experience with the supernatural. A Marian apparition is an event in which the Blessed Virgin Mary is believed to have supernaturally appeared to one or more persons. They are often given names based on the town in which they were reported, or on the sobriquet which was given to Mary on the occasion of the apparition. After surviving emergency brain surgery in 2004, E. Haase created several multi-media works for one purpose: to communicate his vision concerning humanity's role in earth's environmental future. He received this information in a near death experience which occurred during a six-hour craniotomy to suture a burst aneurysm. His latest work stemming from this experience is the interactive book "Apocalypse Near". The book is being released in several editions including e-books, audio books and traditional bound books containing links to supplementary media on the author's websites. The book is a novelization of his screenplay of the same title. Haase's first effort to communicate how humankind may achieve a symbiotic relationship with the environment was www.consciousconsumers.net. Haase feels much of this site was uploaded to his consciousness during an out of body experience while in surgery. Following a year of constant work on consciousconsumers.net Haase became despondent because he felt he wouldn't reach enough people in time to avoid the horrible part of his vision of earth's future. Haase asserts that during his near death experience he saw earth as if he was looking at it from space and watched it change into a dead, moon-like apparition. Haase said, "It happened in an instant; I saw the planet die of Consumption. Then it was like I was turned around to see a biologically healthy earth. The message I felt being communicated was that one of these circumstances would soon occur and which would happen was a choice being made by humankind." More concerning this experience is fused with the fictional drama of "Apocalypse Near". Haase's intends to use drama in the tradition of early Greek & Roman dramas which he opines were more about inspiring the behavior of populations than entertainment. Apocalypse Near" fuses several electronic mediums, performance art and environmental activism into what Haase calls "REFORMance art". The story begins beneath a highway overpass where a young man lays sleeping. His well-heeled appearance indicates he's no average drifter. The man appears to be dreaming. We enter his supernatural communication with what looks like a supernova as it foretells a mission concerning the collapse of earth's operating system. A passerby observes him have a seizure and calls an ambulance. In hospital he's found to be suffering a brain hemorrhage. Surgery saves him but lack of identification and physiological anomalies beget a mystery. Upon waking the man claims no memory of himself. His only memories concern his mission to stop earth's environment from crashing. When asked his name he claims to only remember the sound "E" so hospital staff call him "E". He demands a laptop and Internet connection to upload his "Viridian REVELution" campaign to save earth. This begets an adventure, which will determine the survival of earth's biosphere and be the opening battle in his declared "war on war". A love triangle between "E", the nurse who found him and an elusive muse communicating with him in dreams develops as he begins his quest. "E" discovers he must defeat an invisible enemy invading earth from another dimension. This enemy is composed of dark matter, powered by dark energy and running a superior operating system. Their job is to delete the inferior human product line before humans destroy earth's "bio-drive". In the end "E" finds his identity may give him the ability to rescue earth and undertake what will become his future mission in the war in heaven. The next two books of the trilogy cover this inter-dimensional conflict and the outcome of the protagonist's "War on war". The parallel between Haase's real life and the book's fiction is why Haase subtitled it "a metaphysical autobiography". Haase said "I didn't intend to write this book. It was a case of automatic writing. The book would not exist apart from my N.D.E. and fight to get my life back....
