Paula Commerford wants to warn all authors who think they can get out of their contracts with Publish America. Paul has been arguing with Publish America all year long and has filed complaints with the BBB with regards to their poor business ethics and hidden agendas. The BBB has made several attempts to work with Publish America without resolution in regards to my contracts. Even with the evidence of numerous emails that Paula holds to prove her case it seems the only means of escaping their vampiric clutches would be legal action. For some people, however, according to Paula, that is impossible as attorneys are very expensive and Publish America knows that having an arsenal of their own attorneys on their payroll to assist their devious business practices. Her recommendations to those of you like Paula that have no money for an attorney is to file your complaints with the BBB and maintain a log of the practices of Publish America as well as recorded emails that conflict with your contracts. Paula has all of this and still the BBB cannot sway Publish America into a resolution. That is why she makes it a point in posting online warnings about this publisher and plan on writing a complete and detailed book of how they do business to warn the public.

Baby Lisa Irwin has been missing for two months, but the one-year-old's parents, Deborah Bradley and Jeremy Irwin, continue to maintain that their daughter was kidnapped. Bradley and Irwin have come under fire for failure to cooperate with the Kansas City police department, sparking suspicions that baby Lisa might be dead or that the parents might have been involved. A Dallas psychic, Stephanie Almaguer, made claims on her blog that the missing one-year-old died accidentally in her home and was then dumped in an area resembling the Kansas City location. The self-proclaimed psychic claims she had a vision that Lisa Irwin was buried by a river and a tower. She then posted a drawing of what she saw in her vision. Locals identified parts of the drawing as the region surrounding Sam's Town Casino at Interstate 435 and Highway 210, reported KCTV 5. Kansas City Police Capt. Steve Young told KCTV 5 that the police were aware of Almaguer's reported visions and that, in fact, authorities have been contacted by numerous psychics. However, he claims the information has not been useful and police would not search the former Sam's Town Casino. While police refused to pursue the lead, the public and media sources were quick to consider the tip. Megyn Kelly of Fox News invited Almaguer onto her show in order to discuss her "psychic ability" prior to the abandoned casino's search. The failure of psychics, like Almaguer, to accurately provide information to police calls into question why they repeatedly turn up in the cases of missing people reports. If psychics tend to be unreliable, why do people continue to listen, trust and follow them? Has the seeming hopelessness of Lisa's case lead to the acceptance of all, and any, possible sources of information? Or, is there something greater?

There are plenty of books that offer advice about how to get or keep love in your life. But what about the stories we've all heard of people who do absolutely crazy things in the name of love, things that are the complete opposite of the sober advice offered by self-help books? In CRAZY LITTLE THING: Why Love and Sex Drive Us Mad, publishing in December by Viva Editions, Liz Langley interviewed dozens of people on the extreme edges of love and desire, as well as the experts who are uncovering new scientific information that urges us to ask: how much of our behavior is really our choice? Psychologists, academics and analysts of culture continue to offer us better understanding of ourselves in love and other areas, but neurologists and other specialists, armed with the brain scan, have taken the game to a higher level. Reaching across science, literature and newspaper headlines to illuminate the irrational things people do in the name of love, Langley reveals mental disorders, paraphilias, God and extraterrestrial conspiracies. Edgar Alan Poe's wife succumbed to tuberculosis when she was just 25 and forevermore his work was populated by sweet young women who died too young, often from wasting diseases. Nadine and Bob had both devoted their lives to the church, a nun and priest who never considered any other life until they met one another. And though turning toward each other seemed irrational, their love turned out to be their true commitment to spirituality. When his wife died in 2003, Le Van, a 55 year-old father of seven, at first slept on top of her grave. When his kids found out and prevented him from visiting the graveyard, he brought her home and slept beside her there. Langley goes on to explain recent breakthroughs in brain science for general readers. This book isn't a how-to. It's more of a guess-what. CRAZY LITTLE THING is a pop romp that begins to make sense of the burbling, boiling soup of endorphins, hormones and neurotransmitters that spill from our brains to make us do insane things in the name of love. Liz Langley is a columnist for SexIs magazine and her writing has appeared in/on Salon.com, Jezebel, Alternet, Details, Glamour, Bust, Destination Weddings & Honeymoons, Carnal Nation and Gene Simmon's Tongue. She's regularly blogs for MyPleasure.com and has been a columnist for the Toronto Sun, the Orlando Weekly and the Orlando Sentinel and has won awards from the Society of Professional Journalists, Florida Press Association and Association of Alternative Newsweeklies. Her work appears in BEST SEX WRITING 2008 (Cleis Press)

Imagine being connected to an infinite source of loving energy and feeling whole, happy and content. Imagine experiencing life as a source of limitless creative possibility. Susyn Reeve contends that all of us have a wellspring of limitless creativity and drive within to achieve that sense of fulfillment. In THE INSPIRED LIFE: Unleashing your Mind's Capacity for Joy, publishing in November by Viva Editions, Reeve, with Joan Breiner, offers proven tools to access your inspiration, no matter how deeply buried. Directed to those of us who need a push to open our minds and hearts to the vast creative potential and possibility alive in each moment, THE INSPIRED LIFE urges readers to wake up from the trance of life on automatic and appreciate what they do have. The book reframes breakdowns as stepping-stones to breakthroughs, with inspiring stories and quotes, practices and exercises to access the power of your mind to live a life truly guided by your gifts, talents, skills and abilities. Educator and coach Joan Breiner provides the science behind how the brain works with a spiritual focus, and how to create new brain pathways that allow for habits of thought to support the life you desire. Every chapter ends with an "Inspired Life Action," a simple exercise that reinforces the concepts discussed. An example of one of the "Inspired Life Actions" is Accepting What Is:Practice accepting "what is." When you are talking about the situations in your life-whether they appear to be fortunes or misfortunes-simply describe them as "what is" without attributing blame or "good" or "bad" meaning to them. Notice of your tendency is to automatically focus on drama and what your experience is when you stick to the facts. As meaning making machines, humans have a tendency to automatically tell stories that reflect our beliefs about ourselves, our relationships and our lives. Notice what beliefs are being expressed through your stories.Living an inspired life is an inside job that begins with making a choice, with saying, "Yes, I choose an inspired life." THE INSPIRED LIFE: Unleashing your Mind's Capacity for Joy will show you how. Susyn Reeve is the co-founder of Self-Esteem-Experts.com and the award-winning author of CHOOSE PEACE & HAPPINESS. She has 35 years of experience as a coach, corporate consultant, and InterFaith Minister. Her clients have included American Express, New York University, Exxon, Continental Airlines, The Metropolitan Museum and Young Presidents Organization.
