Everyone is a nationalist on this weekend in June. The gang dives into the US Pro Nationals weekend in August covering the criterium and road race and then we hop over to Europe to see how those folks fared.

Boedi, Matt and Townsend are back in the YYR studios to dish on a busy weekend of skinny tire racing in the States and Europe plus thoughts on the Netflix series, "Ride to Survive" (Unchained). And because it's been requested by 10s of people, we Trash of Panache some of this year's TdF kits.

It’s a ronde through Vlaanderen and a giro through Italia on this week’s podcast. The gang explores cycling’s newest and greatest rivalry between Wout van Aert and Mathieu van der Poel and offers thoughts on its (way too early?) place amongst the greatest rivalries in the sport. This year’s Giro d’Italia saw new faces at the top of the pile, and as with the Tour de France, some of cycling’s old guard were left wanting. Boedi thinks the trend is real and asks whether some of the recent greats will ever win again. T Bone and Le TomTom talk about their experiences racing in the time of COVID, and Sir Cheerio explains how the Ineos Grenadiers play “Total Cycling” as well as some football’s greatest clubs in history. We cover all the Big Dumb Moves over the last few weeks from a premature post-up at Liege Bastonge Liege, a quack-tastic wardrobe change at the Giro, and some tactical beef at the fall classics. Boedi and T-Bone have returned from their respective cycling adventures, and are joined this week by Tom “Yukon Van der Cornelius” Gibbons to talk about the Giro Rosa and the UCI Road World Championships. It was a triple for Anna Van der Breggen this past week, winning every race she entered, and not to take anything away from her performance, but Tom’s got the keys to her form all figured out - and it’s spooky. The Dutch women finished 1,2 and 4 in the road race, and T-Bone wastes no time in proclaiming them three of the greatest women to race bikes from any country, at any time - and they are all racing right now, for the same country. In the men’s races, Filippo Ganna averages over 1000 kph (almost) to win the time trial, and Julian Alaphilippe follows his treasure map to a pirate’s chest filled with gold and rainbows.
