    Our spine is the center line of our body but many of us take for granted this amazing structure by holding on to tension in the body, missing out on the spiritual and yogic relationship of the spine, and clinging to outdated cues and teachings around core strength.

  • Symposium of Yoga Therapy and Research Conference Recap with Pamela Crane

    Every year in June the International Association of Yoga Therapists (IAYT) presents the Symposium of Yoga Therapy and Research conference to bring together yoga therapists from all over the world to share practices and workshops to further professional development.

    This year was the first year since covid that the conference was presented in person (with an option to join virtually) and I was fortunate to be able to attend the sessions in the Chicago area.

  • Yoga and Rest for Dramatic Life Changes with Sonya Chapnick

    It can be traumatic when you get a medical diagnosis that will change your life. Sonya Chapnick had that experience. In this episode, she talks about how she uses yoga and rest to ease suffering around that for herself and her yoga therapy clients.

    Sonya is a certified yoga therapist with more than three decades of training and experience in a variety of yoga disciplines. She teaches a breath-centered practice and believes in the power of slowing down as a key to health and overall wellbeing.

    Resting is one of the most important acts of self care we can do, but for many of us it isn't that easy. Shame, capitalism, and societal pressure can cause us to fall into the trap of being busy or always saying yes to things that aren't serving us.

  • How to Release Fear and Anger Through Yoga with Tom Cronin

    Fear and anger are tied up in our ego but just having awareness isn't always enough.

    In this episode, Tom Cronin talks about using yoga and meditation to overcome the stresses that arrive when our nervous system is stuck in a space of fear and anger. He also drops some great knowledge on how he produced a successful meditation business with some amazing tips for yoga professionals, and why he made a movie about meditation.

    Tom discovered meditation in the early stages of his career as a broker, when the anxiety and chaos he was experiencing had hit a crisis point, and it transformed his world personally and professionally. Founder of The Stillness Project, his ongoing work in transformational leadership coaching and corporate training has seen him working with some of the top companies in the world like Amazon and Coca-Cola. He has spoken on stage at conferences and events like Adnews Summit, Afest, Wanderlust and Mind Heart Connect. Tom has six books published, a meditation app and produced the hit film The Portal.
