The nationwide Covid-19 lockdown in the past couple of years had highlighted New Zealand’s “digital divide”, with many households across the country not having access to a computer, a device or the internet. Digital devices like laptops help adults and our rangatahi (young people) who need them, so they're able to get access to online schooling, apply for jobs, complete tertiary study, work from home or just participate in everyday life. In this podcast, Eteroa Lafaele, founder of DigiTautua, shares her story around distributing 700 laptops to individuals and families between Auckland and Wellington who needed digital devices.
