Trump & Putin: The two leaders are expected to meet at Joint Base Elmendorf-Richardson in Anchoragein, Alaska on Friday to discuss a ceasefire in Ukraine. What can possibly go wrong?
* Trump has threatened “severe consequences” if Putin does not agree to stop his war on Ukraine, and seems genuinely frustrated with Putin’s behavior and actions since taking office more than 6 months ago.
* Ukraine president Zelenskyy, meanwhile, has been adamant that Putin does not want an end to the war.
* My fear is Putin turns this into a propoganda victory for him when he returns to Russia.
Trump Cleans Up: The president has federalized the Washington D.C. police force in an effort to “clean up” the capital. Brian shares his most recent experience in Washington.
NFL Safety: Last week, the NFL sent teams a memo recommending teams begin to upgrade security protocols at their facilities in the wake of the shooting at its headquarters in midtown Manhattan.
The recommendations include:
* The presence of armed officers at team and league facilities whenever players or staff members are present.
* Weapons screening for anyone seeking entry into a team or league facility, including the use of walk-through magnetometers and X-ray scanners for bags, similar to the process for obtaining entry into stadiums prior to games.
“Hard Knocks”: Has Gary been watching “Hard Knocks” on Max this month? This year’s NFL training camp show features the Buffalo Bills, owned by Carbondale, Pennsylvania native Terry Pegula.
