Today we continue in our series titled Jubilee, as we look at Jesus and Sabbath. Pastor Dustin Clegg starts out with 3 observations:
(1) Jubilee Sabbath was about rest rooted in trust and humility (Lev 25:11-12);
(2) Sabbath as worship (Gen 2:1-3); and
(3) Jesus is our Sabbath rest (Matt 11:28-12:14).

He also gave us 7 ways that we can apply this in our daily lives:
1. Prepare for Sabbath.
2. Find specific times to be completely silent and present with Jesus.
3. Spend a day without your phone.
4. Look for opportunities to trust Jesus in risky ways.
5. Be present in relationships with others.
6. Take responsibility for your own Sabbath rest because almost no one will honor it if you do not.
7. Expect an outcry from others when holding Sabbath sacred.

As we begin the new year we start a new series called Jubilee based on Leviticus 25. This series is NOT a plea for a New Year's Resolution. 
The 7 topics we will be focusing on in the coming weeks related to Jubilee, but ultimately Jesus are:
1. Sabbath.
2. Forgiveness.
3. Freedom.
4. Redemption.
5. Healing.
6. Justice.
7. Proclamation.
We see in the text today that halfheartedly following Jesus leads only to chaos. We also see that Jesus is our Jubilee and we must join Him in Jubilee for others.
How do we apply this today? Take steps in each of these truths and help others do the same.

We end the year with the celebration of 3 baptisms and a message from Matthew 16:13-18, and Luke 15:1-2, 11-32.

Today we look at Luke 2:21-35 and Pastor Dustin Clegg has two observations: 
(1) Salvation is only found in the person of Jesus (Luke 2:21-32). And
(2) Jesus has divided the entire world into two camps (Luke 2:33-35).
The Christmas question is "Do you see what Simeon saw?".

Today we continue in the series, A Thrill of Hope, and look at Luke 1 beginning with verse 57. We see that Zechariah's song represents purpose in our pain and afflictions. We also see that people who have really experienced and understand the mercy of Jesus make the best worshipper.
If you're a "good person", humble yourself and look for a worship example in a changed person. 
If you are a person who no one would call "good", Jesus is pursuing you and we are excited to hear your song.

We continue in our Christmas series, A Thrill of Hope, and take a look at Luke 1:26-56 and explore Mary's encounter with the angel Gabriel, who tells her that she will bear the Messiah. 
In the passage we see that (1) Mary was genuine and mature (vs 26-37); (2) Mary was humble (vs 38-55); (3) Mary was able to see God at work in the "normal" (vs 41-45);
(4) Mary was biblical (vs 46-55); and (5) Mary was bold (vs 56).
Spiritual fruit must be held in tension with the if/then covenant nature of God.

Today we start a new series for Christmas titled A Thrill of Hope and look together at Luke 1:1-25. Pastor Dustin Clegg has 3 observations from the text:
(1) We forget about Jesus but He never forgets about us;
(2) Christmas represents the reality of the supernatural colliding with the reality of the natural; and
(3) Hope can be lost when we only, or primarily, focus on natural reality.
How do we apply this to our lives?
(1) Listen.
(2) Be quiet.
(3) Remember.
