Pastor Dustin Clegg continues in our study of the book of John and as we look at 11:38-48 he has three observations:
(1) Resurrection is nasty business;
(2) Jesus is and will always be a threat to "life as we know it";
(3) If Jesus is consistently rejected, He will move on at some point.
How do we apply this? Find a mess to step into, but maybe not for the reason you think.

Pastor Kirk Owens continues with the Who is Jesus? series and walks us through John 11:17-37 giving us three observations from the text:
(1) Pain and suffering are definitely real, and we can rest assured Jesus is always present, loves us deeply, and He is working all things for our good and His glory;
(2) Knowing what to say about or to Jesus is the easy part, but believing and trusting in Him through faith can be very difficult...but always worth it; and
(3) Jesus, the Great I Am is the answer, remedy, solution, and much more to all our apparent problems and circumstances.

Praise the Lord! We started and ended the service with baptism, but in between Pastor Dustin Clegg walked us through John 11:1-16 as we continued with the series, Who is Jesus?.  He began with a question.... Are you okay with a Savior who will allow your body, mind, finances, etc. to suffer so that He can heal your soul? .... and then shared four observations from the text.
(1) When making a request of Jesus start with who He is. (John 11:3);
(2) The love of Jesus & the suffering in our world are not always at odds. (John 11:5-6);
(3) When following Jesus, nothing can happen TO us. It can only happen FOR us. (John 11:8-10); and
(4) Death is completely powerless in the presence Jesus.
How do we apply this?
(1) Trust like Thomas even if you don't understand. (John 11:16); and
(2) Remind those of us in our grief & suffering that it is for our good.

As we continue in our study of the book of John and with the Who is Jesus? series, Pastor Dustin Clegg walks us through John 10:22-41 and has three observations:
(1) Convictions are good. Opinions are normally not that great. (John 10:22-23);
(2) Doubt and suspense are not the same as unbelief. (John 10:24-25); and
(3) Backward thinking leads to backward believing which leads to backward living. (John 10:33).
Question: Has your faith made you more humble or more arrogant?
Application: Wrestle with your faith, but always say "yes" to Jesus.

Pastor Dustin Clegg continues with the Who is Jesus? series and as we look at John 10:1-21 he has three observations from the text:
(1) The Good Shepherd is shockingly personal with His sheep (John 10:1-6);
(2) The Good Shepherd is shockingly protective of His sheep and their joy (John 10:7-          13); and
(3) The Good Shepherd is shockingly loving towards His sheep (John 10:14-21).

As we continue in our study of the book of John and the Who is Jesus? series, we look at John 9:8-34 and Pastor Dustin Clegg has three observations:
(1) The question is and always will be "Who" and not "how";
(2) The family does not grow and the Kingdom does not advance by way of exclusion; and (3) The unbelief of a seeking heart is much softer and more logical than the unbelief of a hardened heart.
How do we apply these truths?
(1) Seek Jesus audaciously with all your heart, soul, mind, and strength.
(2) Ask Him to make your heart audaciously soft.
(3) Ask Him to give you an audacious heart for His people and His family.

Pastor Kirk Owens continues in our study of the book of John and leads us through John 9:1-7, 35-41. In this passage we that (1) Jesus' vision is much better than His disciples' focus; (2) Following Jesus will cost you, but not really; and (3) Taking steps with Jesus is a progression which will lead you into His Kingdom forevermore.
How do we apply this? Know that Jesus sees you right where you are and loves you. Let Jesus progress you by taking steps with Him that will ultimately lead you to worship Him.

As we continue in the Who is Jesus? series, Pastor Dustin Clegg walks us through John 8:30-59 and has three observations:
(1) Believing Jesus is not the same as believing IN Jesus;
(2) When the Word of God is rejected, the truth is lost and people get stupid; and
(3) Not all truth leads to freedom, but the Truth named Jesus does. The freedom we receive from Him may not look like we think it should.

How do we apply this? Don't follow the rules - - follow the Ruler.

Today Pastor Dustin Clegg continues in the Who is Jesus? series, and as we look at John 8:12-30 he gives us four observations from the passage.
(1) We judge ourselves by what we do with Jesus. (John 8:12-19)
(2) No one does anything that is not allowed by Jesus. (John 8:20)
(3) Jesus absolutely claims that He is God. (John 8:21-26)
(4) Jesus is not interested in being a part of our belief system. (John 8:27-30, Daniel 7:9-14).
How do we apply this?
For believers - - Be certain Jesus is the foundation of your identity.
For those who are not yet believers - - Judge yourself now so that you will not judge yourself later.

Today we continue in The Who is Jesus? series as we look at John 8:12 and discuss the Light of the World. Pastor Dustin Clegg has only one observation today: Life apart from Jesus is only formless, empty and dark.
