(1) Justification - Declared innocent by God the Judge because of God the Son;
(2) Adoption - Belonging to the family of God; To adopt a person the adopter must have a fiery and bold compassion that overwhelms existing barriers between the adopter and the adopted (3:25-4:3), the timing must be right (4:4), and the adopter must possess the right qualifications (4:4); 
(3) Intimacy - the ability of believers to relate boldly to the creator of the universe.
How do we apply this to our lives? We align with the Spirit of Jesus. And be family. For real.

Today Pastor Dustin Clegg continues the "Free" series through Galatians. Today we look at Galatians Two. Dustin has three points from this passage 1) Legalism Hypocrisy and Freedom together in clear view in one chapter.  2) Law or Messiah? 3) No one is too big or too little in the Kingdom of Christ but only precious sons and daughters. 

Legalism- Right behavior for the wrong reason- Galatians 2:1-10

Hypocrisy- Good belief but bad behavior - Galatians 2:11-14 

Freedom- Allowing the life of Jesus to flow in me- Galatians 2:15-21

Application Points

1) Denounce Legalism and hypocrisy and embrace His Freedom 

2) Join us in working on our diversity value, it is not a Bridge thing. The Good Gospel is at stake.

We continue in the series Free! as Pastor Dustin Clegg opens the Word to Galatians 1:11-24. There are 3 things to consider in this passage: (1) To defend or not to defend? (2) No believer is incredible, but Jesus has an incredible plan for every believer. And (3) Every believer has the power for church change, community change, and world change inside them.

3 huge reasons for story sharing:
(1) Evangelism of unbelievers.
(2) Encouragement of other believers.
(3) Alerting the world to the reign of Jesus.

2 mistakes in talking about our pasts: (1) We hide it and (2) we make it the best part of the story.

The application or challenge for today is to share a genuine account of the story of Jesus in your life with an unbeliever or a struggling believer.

Today we start a new series as we explore the book of Galatians. Pastor Dustin Clegg walks us through chapter 1 verses 1-10 and has 2 observations: (1) Any addition to the Gospel is anti-gospel. We explored the question, "What is legalism?" Legalism is working for God's favor, working in our own power, and playing by our own rules. What is NOT legalism? Biblical expectations for all believers, Biblical boundaries for church leadership, and parallel accountability. (2) We cannot follow the Jesus of the Gospel if we are consumed with the thoughts of people. As the church we cannot be consumed with pleasing people.
How do we apply all of this? Search the Scripture for the heart of Jesus in all things, and follow hard after Him alone.

Pastor Kirk Owens opens the Word to Matthew 7:13-23 and gives us three aberrations related to the narrow gate and the wide gate discussed in the passage: (1) "Enter" is a command from Jesus and we must respond by moving our trust into Him alone; (2) There is a wide gate that leads to death. Many and most folks go this route; And (3) Jesus is offering Himself as The Superior.... far more superior option.

Other scripture references include John 14:6, Acts 4:12, 1 Timothy 2:5, Genesis 3:8-12, and Romans 1:18-20.

How can we apply this? (1) Get toJesus and stay there.....trust Him alone. (2) Stop running and hiding. Repent from the fruit that's forbidden and killing you. And (3) Humbly remind yourself and others of the Gospel...... the BEST NEWS EVER!

Today we finish up the series, Pop Quiz: The Questions Jesus Asked, and look at Mark 9:14-29 to explore the question "What do you mean, if I can?".  Pastor Dustin Clegg shares four observations: (1) Religious/church games always leave hurting people even more hurt; (2) Faith is more about the Person our faith is in than the amount we can muster up; (3) Jesus works in our failures, and when He does, it's good; and (4 ) The enemy desires death and destruction for every soul. Jesus desires incredible, redeemed life.
How do we apply it? Grow, learn, think in light of the heart of Jesus. Be honest with Jesus, yourself and others about your faith and your failures.

Today Pastor Dustin Clegg walks us through Like 6:39 - 7:9 as we explore people's inability to see the "plank" in their eye as they tell someone else about the splinter in their eye. Three observations from this passage: (1) It is really hard for the blind to see blindness; (2) Our life's fruits reveal our heart's roots; and (3) Life is most effective and best lived in our own unworthiness.
We have to learn to deal with our own junk most swiftly and aggressively.
Big Picture Point: Following Jesus causes us to serve others and control ourselves. When we are out to control others and serve ourselves we are no longer following Jesus.

Today we continue with the series, Pop Quiz: The Questions Jesus Asked. We look at Mark 4:35-41 and Pastor Dustin Clegg shares three observations about the question, "Why are you afraid?": (1) Jesus will give you more than you can handle, but not more than He can handle; (2) Fear causes us to forget who Jesus is and who we are, which leads to us questioning His character; and (3) Real worship flows from both intimacy with and awe of Jesus - - it cannot be one of the other.
If we live in fear we will not do what Jesus has called us to do.
