Today we continue with the series, Pop Quiz: The Questions Jesus Asked. We look at Mark 4:35-41 and Pastor Dustin Clegg shares three observations about the question, "Why are you afraid?": (1) Jesus will give you more than you can handle, but not more than He can handle; (2) Fear causes us to forget who Jesus is and who we are, which leads to us questioning His character; and (3) Real worship flows from both intimacy with and awe of Jesus - - it cannot be one of the other.
If we live in fear we will not do what Jesus has called us to do.

Today we continue with the series, Pop Quiz: The Questions Jesus Asked, and explore the question that Jesus asked the man at the pool at Bethesda, "Do you want to get well?". There are several things that we need to understand about the passage, John 5:1-18. (1) This is a physical circumstance revealing a spiritual truth; (2) We tend to gravitate toward others with the same spiritual paralysis as us; (3) Jesus is not interested in comforting us in our spiritual paralysis, but walking us out of it; and (4) Healing and conflict tend to walk together.

What is keeping you from getting up off your mat and walking? Jesus might find you broken, but He is not going to leave you on the mat.

Today we continue in the series Pop Quiz: the Questions Jesus Asked as we look at John 6:22-71. The crowd had just seen Jesus provide food for the 5,000 men and had seen Him walk on water. We pick up on the story when He told the crowd that they must eat of his flesh and drink his blood, and most everyone left. He asked his disciples, "Are you gonna leave too?"
Pastor Dustin Clegg makes three observations about our faith and our relationship with Jesus: (1) "Doing" will kill our faith, "believing" will sustain it; (2) Coming to Jesus because He gives prizes instead of valuing Him as THE prize will kill our faith; (3) If we can go anywhere besides Jesus, we will, and it will kill our faith.
You can't have Him and what He does until it is JUST HIM.

Happy Easter and welcome to a new sermon series called Pop Quiz: The Questions Jesus Asked. Today Pastor Dustin Clegg opens Matthew 16:13-26 and explores the question that Jesus asked Peter, Who do you say I am?. There are 4 things that are vitally important to understanding this question: (1) Making Jesus "special" but not Lord can be more dangerous than rejecting Him completely; (2) "Fighting for Jesus" can quickly become satanic. We have a lot of people in society who want to "fight" for Jesus, but not many who want to "die" for Jesus; (3)Jesus has to reveal Himself to us to answer His question rightly: and (4) we all have to answer this question. 

It's Good Friday and Kirk and Carly Owens open the word and talk to us about the Passover.

We finish up the series, No More Thems, as we look at Ephesians 5:18 - 6:24.  We explore 4 relationships that must change at salvation: (1) with our spouses; (2) with our children / parents; (3) with our bosses / employees; and (4) with the world. If the Spirit is at work in these relationships it is a wonderful testimony to a watching world. Three keys to being filled with the Spirit: (1) Believing in Jesus, (2) Obeying Jesus, and (3) Embracing Jesus.

Today we continue in the No More Thems series as we look at Ephesians 5 and explore the characteristics of churches from Ephesians 5 known more for "heart" than "attack".  (1) We see in verses 1-5 the first characteristic is that Jesus is the Hero. We should be sure that we , like Jesus, are defined by truth and love. (2) We see that they cling to solid truth in verses 6-14. We should ask Jesus to give us a supernatural desire for truth. And (3) we see in verses 15-20 that they depend on the Spirit. We should ask Jesus to fill us with the Spirit every day.

Brother Kirk Owens leads us through Ephesians 4 today as we continue in the No More Thems series.  In the first part of the scripture Kirk has 3 points: (1) We must strive for unity at the Bridge Church; (2) WE must get rid of rivalry and competition among our fellow families in Christ; and (3) We must kill whatever it is inside of us that is killing unity from happening around us.

Then we see that it is on the leaders of the church to equip the Saints for the work of the ministry. Kirk points out that each person's responsibility or assignment may look different than someone else, but God weaves us all together beautifully. He finishes up by saying that there should be less "it's on them" to do the work as we all grow/mature in Christ together.

Let us be known by God and others in this way..... (1) They teach God's Word faithfully; and (2) They love one another and everyone in the community.
