TheDavidBowersAwards with David Garfield and Gracie Day - David Garfield  is a keyboardist, songwriter, and producer. who has recorded with Smokey Robinson, Cher, Larry Carlton, Steve Lukather, Spinal Tap, George Benson, The Manhattan Transfer, Eros Ramazzotti, and The Rippingtons. He has performed with Freddie Hubbard, Boz Scaggs, Oleta Adams, Brenda Russell, Natalie Cole, and Michael Bolton and is a founding member of “Karizma” and “Los Lobotomys”. David’s production and arrangement of “Let’s Stay Together” featuring Michael McDonald, Don Henley, Richard Marx, Bill Champlin and David Pack from his CD “Tribute to Jeff” made the top ten radio worldwide.

Gracie Day is an emerging singer/songwriter who has established herself as pro throughout New Englad, picking up several awards including "Best New Act of 20117" at the New England Music Awards and Best of Hartford (CT) readers' poll.  She has a compelling, sultry voice that is both honest and raw lyrics in a sound that has been described as Country, Folk, and Blues-Rock.

This week our guest are Billy Alexander of L.A. indie rockers YYNOT and pop/folk/blues artist Phillip Broussard.

Billy Alexander, founder of YYNOT, is a noted guitarist/songwriter/producer who has a wealth of awards to his credit and is sharing the original side of YYNOT, a pre-eminent RUSH tribute band.  Phillip Broussard is a veteran singer/songwriter with a smooth, easy listening style who easily, and successfully, crosses genres with catchy lyrics melded with his unique guitar styling and musicality inspired by John Mayer.

Join me and my co-host, Jon BonJovial for my annual Native American Heritage Month show.   We are honored to have two award-winning guests this week, a mult-awarded artist, Jan Michael Looking Wolf and the daughter of the 'first Native American rock star,' Beth Wray whose father was the legendary guitarist Link Wray.

Jan Michael Looking Wolf is an artist/performer/educator/author and humanitarian who's flute music recordings have garnered over 52 awards including 5 NAMMYs!  Jan is an enrolled Kalapuya member of the Confederated Tribes of Grand Ronde, who resides within his indigenous homelands in Oregon.

Beth Wray is carrying on the legacy of her famous father, a member of the Shawnee tribe, who is credited with the creation of the now-intergral 'fuzz guitar' sound of rock music as well as the 'power chord.'  He has done music of many genres including pop, rock, country, blues but is best known for his signature classic hit, 'Rumble.'  Link Wray is up for a long-overdue election to the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.

Emerging country artists Will Carter and acoustic pop singer/songwriter Karen Caruso are this week's TheDavidBowersAwards award winners!  Will Carter brings us a couple of original tracks and talks of his band and his growth as an independent artist.  Karen brings her cheerful uplifting style with her knack for catchy lyrics and wordplay tied together by musical ear-bugs that will stay with in your head.

Clara Bellino is a singular singer and entrepeneur who manages to combine her singing career with wellness & antiaging pop-up products.  Drawing on her European roots and her American influences, she has a world-sound and we get to preview a snippet from her upcoming album as well as listen to a couple of her current tracks.

Chickenbone Slim & The Biscuits is fronted by singer/guitarist Larry Teves of San Diego and plays an original mix of blues with a multitude of influences from rock and pop to country.  We've sample a couple tracks from his current hit album "The Big Beat" released in September.
