MICHAEL BALLARD

Michael Ballard was the very first guest I sat down with when The Desiree Show landed at Rogue Collective back in May.

We talked skateboarding, the Skateboarding Hall of Fame, the book, photography, stories, stories and more stories from over the years and a whole lot more.

Really grateful to Michael for kicking off this new chapter with me.

Thank you to Buddy Coen, Adam & Abby for all your help.

BEN McQUEEN - THE DESIREE SHOW - July 24, 2026

Incredible film maker, producer, tattoo artist, skateboarder and Let It Kill You creator Ben McQueen joined me on the show at Rogue Collective.

We talk skateboarding, tattooing, art, Let It Kill You, growing up in Indiana, the people who influenced him, where his path has taken him and what’s next.

Thank you Ben for making the trip and for such a great conversation. Already looking forward to round two and having you. on the weekly NFL pick’em this season. Thanks again for your patience as we were so delayed by my fender bender incident.

Big thanks to Lizzie Armanto, Max Schaaf & Patrick O’Dell, and as always Abby, Adam & Rogue Collective.

MARK APPLEYARD on The Desiree Show

Huge thanks to @mark_appleyard for coming on the show. One of the best (and buttery) styles ever.

An amazing human, husband, father, 2003 SOTY, and over 20 years with Globe… and so much more!

It was so good catching up and hearing more of his story.

Huge thanks to everyone who sent in questions, stories, and love for Mark.

Jon Holland, Bill Weiss, Jordan Hoffart, Geoff Rowley, Anthony Mapstone and Alex Chalmers.

And a huge thank you to Adam, Abby and Rogue Collective for helping make these conversations happen.

As always… live & unedited.

Still shaking the dust off and finding my rhythm again, so thanks for bearing with me. I appreciate every listen, share, comment, and all the support. 🙏🏽

First Downs & Flip Tricks

This was a very tender day.

Clyde took the train up, I picked him up, and somehow we made a show.

I was heartbroken, exhausted, and moving through the day like a bit of a zombie. (TBH, I was a wreck… held together by safety pins.) But Clyde came through with stories, warmth, honesty, and so much laughter.

I’m so grateful for longtime friends who meet you exactly where you are.

And somehow, Marc has been in the room for every show since.

Love you, Clyde.

Raw and unedited, as always… for better or worse.

Huge thanks to Mike Sinclair for making the trip up to join me at the new home of the Desiree Show at Rogue Collective

We bounced all over the place—skateboarding, roller rinks, cars, bumper stickers, X-Games, airplanes, a Seahawks twin, plenty of stories, and a whole lot more.

A heartfelt thank you to everyone who contributed stories, thoughts, and questions. Even though we couldn’t get to everything, your input helped shape the conversation

Angie Sinclair, David Reyes, Shiloh Catori, Don Pendleton, Michael Burnett, Laura Martin and Aaron Astorga.

Recorded live and unedited June 17, 2026—for better or worse.

First Downs & Flip Tricks

August 3, 2016 Kevin Wilkins joined Desiree on the show, when she was broadcasting from WTR Radio. Kevin is incredibly talented writer, innovator, zine maker., skateboarder, husband, father.....a staple in the skateboarding worlds. November 5, I woke to the passing of Kevin after a five year battle with cancer. I should say I and the entire skateboarding community. This show never loaded, quotes from friends included Andy Jenkins, Ed Dominick, Grant Britain and....Thank you Kevin for the gift of working with you, your friendship, support, all the beautiful witty words and all the gifts you shared with us. My heart, prayers and thoughts are with Cheryl, the boys, Paddy and the entire Wilkins Family.

Show originally aired live was with NFL Michael Booker. Sound quality not the best at WTR.....so this is raw and unedited.

Flash Back from March 20, 2018 Dr Jen Welter joined me again on the show.

Also hits on Vans Women's Combi, quick wrap up on Vans, 'Get On Board: A celebration of Women's Skateboarding' the show I curated, MC'd and was moderator for.

A vien that I started that show off with was a quote from Michelle Tafoya, as we also honor international women's day ( a bit delayed).

"I never went into it [the business] thinking 'I'm a female sports reporter'. I just went into it thinking 'I'm a sports reporter'. No chip on the shoulder, no feeling like a victim when you walk in, no feeling entitled when you walk in. You've just got to do your job and work extremely hard. I think it's very basic. There's no magic to it. I think honestly it comes down to how badly do you want it. How hard are you willing to work?"

Dr Jen always with amazing insight, experience and inspiration,
