Sixteen years ago, a family embarked on a challenging quest for answers. On September 8, 2007, Renee Kyles disappeared from a residence in Kalamazoo, Michigan, leaving no trace behind. The 53-year-old grandmother, who had relocated from Chicago to be near her daughter and granddaughter, was last seen by her daughter, La Joya Newton, on that fateful day. Renee was supposed to watch a football game at a friend’s house, departing in a black Pontiac Vibe, but her contact abruptly ceased.

For more than two decades, the case of a young woman’s disappearance remains unresolved. Daphne Jones, a 22-year-old student at the University of New Orleans, left her dormitory for an off-campus apartment after discovering her pregnancy. She intended to quit her part-time job and return home to Maryland to live with her mother, but she disappeared before that could happen.
