Part 2 of A Dummies Guide to the Early Church will help anyone understand the major issues in the Church from about 450 to 800. Still dealing with Christological issues, i.e. the nature of Jesus, Councils 4-7 sought to iron out key doctrines in the Church. We'll explain basic concepts and phrases that Christians should be familiar with and you'll leave feeling like you just aced a 101 class in seminary. Thanks to Evan Friske for stopping in to talk to the other Evan.
It's just Ken and Evan this round and we go pretty deep on a number of topics. We actually pull the curtain back a bit and examine the opening tagline for the show. Why are we "post-apologetic" and what is "blessed talk?" We look at Apple's disastrous new iPad commercial and do a deep dive on the morality of tariffs. We also look at the side-by-side cases of a gun-firing teen getting back on the streets while a pro-life protester is looking at years in jail.

Dr. Austin Freeman joins us to look at some of the more bizarre Bible-adjacent theories out there. Is the Book of Enoch legit? Are "seed wars" between Jesus' people and the descendants of Satan a thing? Who were the Nephilim in Genesis 6? We look at all of that and more!
This week, Marquice Hobbs and Oscar Villanueva join Evan (sadly, not Sarah this week!) to look at the Pro-Palestine (pro-Hamas) college protests, the wisdom of teens having phones, 8th graders banned from future competition for protesting a trans athlete, and Russell Brand's surprising baptism.
Part 1 of A Dummies Guide to the Early Church will help anyone understand the major issues in the Church for the first four centuries. Mainly dealing with Christological issues, i.e. the nature of Jesus, we see one extreme understanding after another. (Jesus is not God! Jesus is not a man!) We'll explain basic concepts and phrases that Christians should be familiar with and you'll leave feeling like you just aced a 101 class in seminary. So we cover the first three "Ecumenical" Councils in this episode. Councils 4-7 are covered in part 2. Thanks to Evan Friske for stopping in to talk to the other Evan.
Ken, Sarah and Evan look at the most recent news with a Christian spin. Ken tries to white pill Evan, who has become black pilled on the abortion question. Meanwhile, why are we always at war?
Adults, the second article about polycules (basically large adult partnerships) is not child friendly. It's not explicit, but you may want to listen without the children around.
Pastors Justin Gingrich and Evan McClanahan look at the question of homosexuality from a biblical perspective. Is it wrong? Can it be justified? What are the best biblical cases in each direction? A panel discussion including Gabriel Orr, Mark Ball, and Meredith Mills follows the initial presentations.

Sarah hosts a panel discussion that serves as a deep dive follow-up on a recent live event looking at the nature of the Bible. Is it inerrant? What does that mean? Inspired? Where do we draw the line?
There are a lot of juicy topics in this week's episode. We look at Mr. God Delusion himself, Richard Dawkins, all of a sudden defending Christianity, J.K. Rowling's fight for the freedom to speak, a truly bizarre ritual at UCLA's medical school, and more. Thanks to Austin Freeman for stopping by!
Father Frank Vera of Holy Cross Chapel in downtown Houston joins Sarah and Evan to look at some of the FAQ concerning Roman Catholicism. Why do we pray to saints? Is there a treasury of merit? What is transubstantiation? Is the priesthood a biblical office? Many thanks to Father Vera for giving of his time.
