This week: What Stage Are You In?
On this episode, Tom and Brett discuss more about change and the way we view the process in the Stages of Change.
The stages of change are a model that describes the process of changing a behavior. The model includes the following stages:
• Precontemplation: People are not intending to change, and may not be aware of the consequences of their current behaviors
• Contemplation: People are aware of a problem and are considering making a change
• Preparation: People have committed to making a change and are creating a plan
• Action: People have made observable changes to their lifestyle within the past six months
• Maintenance: People are working to maintain the new status quo and avoid relapse
• Relapse: People regress to an earlier stage in the model
