The world will tell you to chase “beautiful.” But beautiful can be surface, temporary, and defined by trends that shift with the wind. Precious is different. Precious is rare. Precious is protected, valued, and costly. Precious is who you are to God.

In this episode, I’m breaking down why being “better than beautiful” means embracing your God-given worth — not as a prize on display, but as a daughter who carries eternal value. And here’s the good news: God has already given us the compass for how to recognize real love. It’s not the world’s bait-and-switch version built on beauty, but love that looks like sacrifice, truth, and action — the kind of love that sees your worth and moves toward you the way Christ did for us.

Why do we need to talk about race when we talk about body image? Because for so many Black women, the battle with our bodies didn’t start in a mirror—it started in a world that taught us our hair was too nappy, our skin too dark, our noses too wide. Somtimes the shape and size of our body feels like the one thing we can control to help us fit in, survive, or belong.

In this episode, we pull the so-called “race card” unapologetically and examine how growing up in a Eurocentric world shapes how Black women see themselves. We’ll talk about how the fight to live beautifully in our right-now bodies mirrors the journey of learning to love our Blackness—without the world’s applause, and sometimes in spite of its hate.
