I used to think that I would be so darn happy with my life when I lost weight. That birds would chirp and it would be floating in a dream. :)
The truth was – is that I did enjoy being a smaller size and I did feel more confident, but
Now, after working with thousands of women, here’s what I’ve seen…. - If you’re insecure now, you’ll be insecure later. - If you don't like yourself now, you’ll pick apart your thinner body later. - If you’re critical of everything you eat now, you’ll be critical later. - If you don’t find time for yourself now, it will be hard for you to find time for yourself later.
The process of losing weight is a holistic process. If you don’t fix your mind, then you will just be a thinner version of how you are now.
Today I want to talk about two ways you can start making changes -
1. Recognize your overall energy around food, your body, your thoughts, and losing weight. Is it positive or negative? - Do you lean towards liking your body or hating it? - Do you you lean towards taking care of it, or ignoring it? - Do you lean towards speaking nicely to yourself or do you lean towards speaking negatively?
- Are you excited to lose weight or are you dreading the process?
2. Begin creating Bridge Thoughts – Bridge Thoughts bridge where you are now to where you want to go. These thoughts help with cognitive dissonance and will begin to help you close the gap between where you are and where you want to be with your body. Examples Include – - I’m spending time each week finding movement that I love. - Daily, I’m in the process of finding parts of my body that I appreciate - I’m grateful for the incredible body I have - I'm proud of the time and energy I’m investing in myself and my health - I'm finding parts of losing weight really fun - I love investing and healing my relationship with food - I’m enjoying feeling into my body to determine what it needs to feel mentally and emotionally nourished.
