Joseph cites 1 Peter 1:12 to establish that angels possess a real curiosity about humanity, stemming from God's great love and desire for mankind. This curiosity revolves around humanity's relationship with God, particularly concerning the gospel. He notes that angels will one day descend and ascend upon the true mercy seat, which is Jesus, the Son of Man, as illustrated in Exodus 25:20.

Next, Joseph references John 1:51 to show how angels will ascend and descend upon the Son of Man. He explains that this fulfillment of angels gazing upon the mercy seat occurred again when Jesus rose from the dead and ascended into heaven. At that time, angels witnessed Jesus, gaining insight beyond just prophetic types and shadows regarding the coming Messiah. They observed Jesus conquer His enemies, underscoring that He is indeed Lord over death, hell, and the grave.

He further leads us to Colossians 2:14, which highlights Christ’s sacrifice for us. It states that He wiped out the handwriting of requirements that were against us, taking it away and nailing it to the cross. Additionally, He disarmed principalities and powers, making a public spectacle of them and triumphing over them in the process. Joseph also discusses how terrifying God's kind of anger can be, especially toward unbelievers, as illustrated in Hebrews 10:30-31 and Luke 17:1-2. For as much as He loves us, He equally hates whatever threatens our well-being in life.
