Our time of quarantine and economic downturn is very similar to what our ancestors in the 1920s and 1930s went through. They had just finished a World War, the Spanish Flu hit and then the Great Depression.

At that time, people were feeling much the same way as many of us are today. Many felt and feel that "something needs to be done" when the truth is that "doing something" for the sake of acting most often accomplished nothing.

So, maybe I get a little preachy and opinionated in this one, but I believe that Cinderella Man contains a couple of very important lessons that we need to heed.

Freedom to Live: Step 17 of Joseph Campbell's Hero's Journey

Well, my Dear Heroes, here we are at the very end of our Journey. This is the time of Finding and Peace. This is the time that we rest and reflect on all we have learned before we consider future adventures.

But don't worry, this isn't quite the end of our series. We have one more step to explore. The Grande Finale of Think Spiritual's Hero's Journey series will be coming up towards the end of May 2020. Exciting!

In this second part of exploring the Hero's Journey of MCU Bruce Banner, we look at 2008's The Incredible Hulk and 2012's The Avengers.

The Incredible Hulk is almost entirely a "Refusal of the Call" movie.

Bruce Banner's/Hulk's arc is actually rather tragic in The Avengers.

This step right here is the true goal of every Hero's Journey, but don't be surprised if you miss it the first time or the next few times around the wheel. It's not something that will be attained immediately. It takes time and you have to be ready for it.

And it's okay if you're not ready for it. Life wouldn't be interesting if it weren't difficult to Master.

It's about time that I spend some time talking about some other Superheroes and I'll start with the MCU version of Bruce Banner/Hulk.

And, yes, I KNOW that Ang Lee's 2003 Hulk is not canon, but for the purpose of stringing out a back story and examining a multi-arc character development AND to allow you to see yourself in the journey, I am still using this great movie as my starting point.

Yes, great movie. There, I said it. When you can see it for what it really is, it's got a lot to say. Because this is not a superhero movie. It's about childhood and generational trauma.

We are getting closer and closer to the end of this series, my Dear Heroes. I'm excited about the things that are coming next, but first we must finish this current journey and take some time to rest and reflect.

On a sidenote, I'm now using a fully Linux-based system for all of my writing and production...actually, I've converted almost every system in my house to Linux. Breaking free of the Windows strangle-hold!

I mention that because there are some glitches in this episode that are in part due to software issues and due to using completely new programs for nearly every step of the process.

Anyway, I think this is a fantastic episode and I'm very proud of it. Enjoy!

We are getting closer and closer to the end(?) of our journey. However, it's very necessary to integrate all the lessons we've learned in the depths of the soul into everyday living.

This is when we really need something to ground us.

Did you really think I would allow 2019 to end without getting at least one more step of the Journey uploaded?

Well, I admit I haven't been terribly consistent, so maybe you did think that.

Please believe me, my Dear Heroes: I will not abandon this quest, no matter how long it takes to find our way to the end.

In this final installment of our Kung Fu Panda series, Mark talks about the Return stage of the Hero's Journey, how we can learn from Po how to become enlightened, and why you shouldn't be a cult leader.

Before we dive into Kung Fu Panda 3, we have to examine the Return stage of the Hero's Journey and what could happen if you don't complete the journey.
