There are many times in our life where we have choices to make and every one of those choices will lead us to different conclusions about how our life has turned out and why it turned out that way.

In Kung Fu Panda 2, Po faces a few of these decisions and it is up to him as to whether he will remain the Hero or take the path of the Villain (or, shall we say, the Victim?).

We all have the capability of being Hero or Villain. We all of the compulsions of both archetypes. It's completely up to us which path to take.

Perhaps it's silly that I'm 45 years old and I love animated movies. Perhaps not.

I find that much of the story-telling in animated films tends to be better than many "adult" movies (no, not THAT kind of "adult movie"). I think the writers simply aren't trying as hard to tell something different and are just focused on telling the best story they can muster that also houses some fundamental truth or other.

And, honestly, I think Dreamworks outdid themselves with the Kung Fu Panda series.

I think it's one of my favourite experiences to have a movie surprise me with its depth and meaning when I really don't expect it. I expected an anime adaptation or poor comicbook movie from Sucker Punch and what I ended up getting was, very possibly, the most profound movie I've ever seen.

In this episode of Think Spiritual Podcasts (presented by Movies and Mythology), we look at achieving goals and the prize attained at the end of your endeavors.

Quite often those prizes (boons) are not what you expected them to be.

This is also kind of a new channel introduction video as my previous one was a little over-written/over-produced.

Well, here we are once again! Bernardo and Gonzo are back in the Think Spiritual studio and this time we’re watching and analyzing Ladyhawke.

Honestly, this movie didn’t give us a whole lot in terms of Swordporn action and adventure. There definitely was some deeper meaning to it, but what it mostly opened us up to was discussing the psychological and mythological archetype of the Thief.

And leave it to Bernardo, as always, to keep us on topic!

It's Hero's Journey time once again and we're past the half-way point!

Apotheosis is my favourite step in the Hero’s Journey. And why is that?

Because this is freedom time. At this time comes huge shifts in your ways of thinking and being and all the burdens you’ve been carrying are suddenly of no consequence. You can move forward unhindered and without worry of what you’re leaving behind.

I ended up in a movie theatre on Sunday evening to watch the 3-hour finale to the Avengers saga and I have to say that I was surprised at the depth that I found within it. There were some fantastic moments and important lessons. At 2am, I was putting typing the last paragraph of this script.

This is not a super in-depth examination of Endgame, only an overview of some deeper concepts that I will explore on future episodes of Think Spiritual Podcasts. This hastily cobbled together episode is mostly just to get my ideas out there. Some spoilers contained within, but I am somewhat cryptic with a few of them.
