Rayshard Brooks, George Floyd, Breonna Taylor, and Ahmaud Arbery are four of the most recent Black and Brown unarmed individuals to lose their lives in incidents of racial prejudice and/or police brutality.But is the solution to this ongoing problem for Black and Brown people to legally take arms? The 2nd Amendment of the Constitution guarantees us the “right to bear arms”, but what effect would that have on our community?

As a hip-hop fan coming up in the 1990s, there was no group that better personified the spirit of Black power than Public Enemy, and with albums like “It Takes A Nation of Millions” and “Fear of a Black Planet”, they have cemented their legacy as one of the greatest groups of all-time. Recently, BET remade PE’s 1989 protest anthem “Fight the Power” as the intro to the 2020 BET Awards, but did the remake live up to the original?
