On the way to my first academic conference I am taking the time to gather my thoughts about the contributions I am going to be presenting

Who will nudge the nudger and why do we need someone else to boost our intuitions towards better pro-environmental decisions. I am recording this in preparation for a blog post on Behavioraleconomics.com which will break down the ethical considerations that those planning to use behaviour change interventions towards pro-environmental goals. Reviewing two panel discussions at COP 26 in Glasgow and matching it to some of the literature I am reviewing for an upcoming paper I will be presenting at a conference

I talk about how research that is supposed to generate theory or smaller than theory new concepts often goes step by step and add some rules of thumb for how to proceed while letting go of the common sense idea of the scientific hypotethico-deductive method

In this episode I try to delve back through my research experience in order to start a new series on research methodology as I have really wanted to formalise some of these skills through accreditation (chartered scientist) and certification (some courses as well as working on an attestation to an ISO standard for research)

In this walkey talkey episode I totally lose my tain of thought more than once and just keep trying to put out to the fore what I know about the difference between cognitivist and non-cognitivist theories of emotion. I totally forget I have primary data from my PhD that may be related and just get carried away in generalisms

Covering the holistic nature of experience and trying to distinguish between cognition, emotion and feelings. Have been thinking through quite a bit as I started a new research job, got accredited as a chartered scientist and did a course in the philosophy of emotions at Oxford so all of the jumbled thoughts integrated into one for this episode... An intro to another 3-5 episodes on a topic that will help me reflect as I prepare for submitting an abstract for my first academic journal publication. Having gathered data in over 200 places from in depth interviews I am starting to go back to the literature on perceptions and emotions to help me make sense of what I have and not to reinvent the wheel
