In this week's "Living While Black" edition, we discuss two very important trials that are taking place right now; the Ahmaud Arbery trilal and the Kyle Rittenhouse trial, and how both of these cases are ultimately going to impact the Black Community. Ahmaud Arbery was the young black jogger who was cut down by three white men who claimed they were taking the law in their own hands. And, Kyle Rittenhouse is a young 18yr old white teenager who is charged with killing two people and wounding another during a Kenosha, Wisconsin demonstration taking place in the aftermath of the death of Jacob Blake. • "Lessons In Leadership"
This week's edition of the podcast, we talk NBA Superstar Kyrie Irving, Former Detroit Chief of Police & Gubernatoral Candidate James Craig, & General Colin Powell, all through the lens of leadership. What is good leadershp and what does bad leadership look like? I believe it is important to not only know what to do, but also what not do. And, I think we have 3 perfect examples of both spectrums of leadership that we can dissect and examine in this week's edition of the Thinking Out Loud Radio Show. From Kyrie's unfounded stance on being a voice for the voiceless with regards to the COVID-19 Vaccine Mandate, to Former Chief of Police & Republican Gubernatorial Candidate James Craig and his untimely political aspirations of unsitting Michigan Democratic Govenor Gretchen Whitmer. We also discuss the stellar career of Four-Star General & Former Secretary of State Colin Powell as he succumb to complications of COVID-19. Again, we believe these three profiles in leadership are lessons that we all can learn from.
PLUS, we can't think of a better way to cap off this week's show, but with a timely excerpt from distinguished scholar, intellectual, speaker and author Dr. Myles Munroe as he asks a very poignant question about leadership; "Are You An Egotist Or Are You A Leader?" This is definitely a message that you need to hear. We believe this week's show is highl insightful and definitely one that you can't afford to miss!

  • "Are We Beating A Dead Horse?"
This week we plan to tackle what we believe to be very important issues that we also believe are directly related. The question of this week's show is one i'm sure you've heard before. "Are we beating a dead horse?" We not only discuss the identity or the subject matter of this proverbial dead horse, but also the issues that we believe to be directly related. Firstly, the atrocities taking place at the Mexican border related to the Haitian refugees coming to this country escaping the terror and turmoil happening in their own country. And, the inept and vicious response that they recieved from our goverment; border patrol agents photographed on horseback whipping the Haitian immigrants as if they were chattel slaves. Deplorable!
We also discuss another emerging problem within our community of missing persons and the disparity that exists between the media attention that White missing person's recieve versus their Black counterparts. All of this seemed to have sprung out of the high profile missing person case of the Gabby Petito; young white woman traveling with her fiancee that mysterially dissappeared, but later was found dead. Her financee is still at large. This case recieved quite a bit of media attention which some in the Black Community believe lead to the quick discovery of her remains. Whlle, Black graduate Jelani Day and others like him, go mssing for months and some for even longer than that with barely any media coverage at all. We discuss this as well as the underlying thread that seems to join this two very different issues together.
PLUS, we have a dynamic Thought of the Week in store for you. We share a very powerful poem from one of Black History's greatest Poet Laureate Langston Hughes entitled, "Let America Be America Again!" A poem that we believe fits very appropriately with the theme of this week's show. We also talk a little Spartan Football as well,
