Thinking Out Loud Radio Show | Politics, Popular Culture And Everything In Between

On our Birthday Edition, we are sharing an interview we had with academic phenom Haley Taylor Shlitz, who was recently on Good Morning America sharing her story of how she went from home school at age 11 to Law School at age 16. At 16 years-old, Haley Taylor Schlitz is a senior at Texas Woman’s University. She started homeschooling at age 11. Homeschooling has allowed her to advance through high-school at her own pace, graduating at age 13, ready for college. Haley has excelled as an honors student and is on course to graduate in May 2019 with a Bachelor’s of Science in Interdisciplinary Studies.  Haley has been accepted to 9 law schools including SMU Dedman School of Law, Howard University School of Law, University of Houston Law Center, Texas Tech University School of Law and 5 others.  Haley is pursuing a career as an attorney where she hopes to advocate for educational equity and greater access to gifted and talented programs for students of color and girls. We are so excited to have her on the show with us on tonight.

In addition, we will be giving an update on our brackets for March Madness. Are your brackets busted? Find out if my bracket is busted and how are the Michigan State Spartans; my pick to win it all, are doing in this year's tournament. How did the MIchigan Wolverines do?  We will be discussing this plus a whole lot more on the Birthday Edition of the Thinking Out Loud Radio Show.

Tune in Tuesday night at 8pm for a life-changing, thought-provoking and compelling testimony of transformation and redemption. We are calling it the "Transformation of Darryl Woods" 29yrs ago, Darryl Woods was convicted and sentenced to life in prison without the possibility of parole, His life was headed on a downward spiral to nowhere. When he was convicted at the tender age of 18yrs old, he also had a 1yr son whom he believed he may never see again  Listen as Darryl takes us through the rollercoaster ride of this terminal prison system that feels eerily similar to the popular movie "The Shawshank Redemption." The only difference in this story is Darryl didn't have to break out, but long after he found God and dedicated his life to serving Him, in Dec of 2018 Darryl was granted a full commutation of his life sentence by then Gov. Rick Synder. In fact, Darryl was the last name on a small list submitted on the last day the Michigan State Legislature was in session before the Holiday Break, and it happened to be the last day the current sitting Governor of the State of Michigan would have an opportunity to grant Darryl Woods the favor he had been praying and asking God for, for most of his prison sentence.

In this interview Darryl Woods Sr is also joined by his son Darryl Woods Jr, who; although he was physically absent as Darryl Jr's father, he more than made up for it being a constant motivator, and encourager in his son's life even from behind prison walls. In fact, Darryl Sr. not only helped his son get admitted into Michigan State University, but he also helped him go "tuition-free," And, now his son Darryl Jr is a motivational speaker traveling around the world motivating and inspiring others with his message of inspiration and empowerment. Join us for this inspiring interview, plus a whole lot more. Just click the listen to listen OR visit www.michaelnimmons.com

It's March; and it's Women's History Month and boy do we kick this month off with a BANG with the debut of Christian Rapper & Spoken Word Artist Ty Scott King's new single "Shine." This song is a definite banger, just like her last single "Concrete." And, 1yr later Ty is back to talk to us about the new single, her career, and much more. We talk about Christian Hop, and the direction the genre is headed, who she likes, we even talk Fred Hammond & "Ye." That's right! A lot on the docket during this interview, but we always love when Ty comes through, because not only are debuting her new single, but she also dropped some doped poetry on us in honor of "Women's History Month." The poem is called "Queen," and it is definitely an empowering and motivating word of encouragement for every woman that tune's into this show.

Plus, we have revamped our "What Are You Thinking About" segment and we'll be talking about Momo and how to make sure she doesn't disturb your household, along with some of the week's current hot topics. And, we've got a very special "Thought of the Week" in honor of "Women's History Month."  as well. Plus a lot more surprises in store! So, this is definitely one of those power-packed, dynamic shows that you don't want to miss. So, take my advice and don't miss
