  • 8am Behind the Scenes: feat. Author. Speaker & Playwright Vanessa Lynn
In this special Valentine's Day Edition of the Thinking Out Loud Radio Show we are taking a behind the scenes look at the art of playwrighting from the professional playwright, author, speaker and CEO Vanessa Lynn. Vanessa has over 20 years of experience writing such plays as "Unequally Yoked," "Boss Lady" & "Affairs just to name a few. She is a woman of influence that started from the bottom and is now at the top of her game writing, producing, and making moves in the kingdom. We are excited to have her on the show to discuss her experience writing plays as well as promoting her play "Unequally Yoked" which is showcasing Valentines Day weekend right here in Detroit at the Wayne State University Community Arts Auditorium. Listen to the show for more details.
Also, we plan on discussing our recent blog post entitled "Black History OR Blackface?" I am really confused about whether it is Black History month or is it Blackface Month. Has the month of February transcended into a racial parody of the Black Community? In this blog, we discuss the string of recent racially motivated and charged events that have been dominating the 24hr news cycle. from Gov. Ralph Northam of the Commonwealth of Virginia and his Atty General Mark Herring and their Blackface admissions to high-end fashion brands Gucci and Prada pulling their racist products off the shelves. This is prompted an immediate outcry and demands of boycotts and resignations, because of the blatant racism that is now front and center for the world to see. Something has to be done, and we plan to discuss that and a whole lot more on the next episode of the Thinking Out Loud Radio Show.

If you thought Pt. 1 was powerful, then wait to hear the conclusion of our conversation of "Women In Politics" with Speaker, Activist, Influencer & Ambassador Rev. Marcia L. Dyson. You will be surprised at the outcome. We also discuss some of the presidential candidates in 2020 and what is the likelihood of us electing the 1st Woman President? And, who is that candidate? Are they running now or is this someone we will eventually see emerge later on down the road? • 8am Women In Politics: A Conversation With Rev. Marcia L. Dyson Pt 1.
2018 was dubbed the "Year of the Woman" because of the #MeToo Movement and the Women's March. And, this year seems to be a continuation of that momentum, especially in the political arena. In Jan we saw the highest percentage of female congressional members in our nation's history sworn in as apart of the 116th Class of Congressional Delegates. This insurgence of women in the political spectrum is due in large part to the #Metoo Movement and the Women's March. However, what are some of the other driving forces behind this increase in women in the political arena? Will we see this trend continue? What are the greatest challenges facing women moving forward? We discuss these questions and many more with the Political Activist, Champion of Female Empowerment, Noted Speaker and Minister Reverend Marcia Dyson. This is an in-depth and impactful conversation about the subject of "Women In Politics" with someone who has been fighting for women's rights for many years. In our discussion, we talk about new Democratic Leader Nancy Pelosi, what should we do about Trump, we will ever see a Woman President and a whole more. You don't want to miss part 1 of the power-pack conversation.
