  • Kidney Health with a Nephrologist (Healthy Planet)

A Plant-Based Diet is Good for Your Kidneys.  The host for this show is Grace Chen O'Neil.  The guest is Shivam Joshi.

Dr. Shivam Joshi, nephrologist, tells us about the role the kidneys play in filtering out protein and other toxins.  He also tells us how we can decrease the recurrence of kidney stones if you have them.  If you have chronic kidney disease, it is possible to slow down or reverse it with a plant-based diet.  Renal patients are often told to avoid a plant-based diet due to phosphate and potassium.  Despite this, it can actually be detrimental to stay on an animal based diet vs. a plant-based diet if you have kidney disease.  Tune into the interview to find out more!

  • Spirituality: an Answer to the Coronavirus (Coronavirus and Our Mental Health)

Spirituality, a Positive Path, Destination.  The host for this show is Ken Burtness.  The guest is Daniel Lev.

Spirituality is a global path inherent in religion and philosophy. All these paths provide great support and guidance during hard times. Finding spirituality helps people deal with discouragement and overcome what seems to be insurmountable problems. People often take life for granted, assuming they will be able to continue unimpeded until they reach that magical end when "They lived happily ever after." Spirituality helps people let go of these expectations and live in the moment. Spirituality also helps people deal with death and loss as well as life. Finally, Spirituality is the great giver of Hope, a way to open doors that seem irrevocably closed, to live a happy and productive life.

At a news confrence held in Japan, President Biden was asked to compare US support for Ukraine versus Taiwan. President Biden's response left little doubt of the administration's commitment to defend Taiwan should China attack. The president's response drew a quick response from China, stating Taiwan was China's sovereign territory. Issues of USA/China trade relations, China's economic support of Russia, and/or expanded military exercises in the South China Sea may see an immediate change resulting from Biden's firm line in the sand.  The current China/USA relationship is part of this show's discussion.
