  • The Military Takeover in Sudan (Transitional Justice)

    Sudan's Democratic Transition.  The host for this show is Jay Fidell.  The guests are Ahmed Abdulshafi Toba and Mutasim Ali.  


    Following the December revolution of 2018, the Sudanese people make headway in the transition to democracy. On October 25, 2021, however, the military in Sudan ordered the dissolution of the civilian-led government and carried out sweeping arrests against activists, human rights defenders, and ministers including Prime Minister Dr. Abdalla Hamdok. This is a major setback since the removal of the former dictator Omar al-Bashir from Office. The military takeover threatens to derail Sudan's path to democracy, just as the country had begun to resurface after decades of autocratic rule, global isolation, and crippling economic sanctions.

  • Hubs in Hawaii: Green Ground Transportation (Code Green)

    Super-efficient Ground Transportation.  The host for this show is Howard Wiig.  The guest is Parker Kushima.  


    Cities worldwide move people around at a fraction of Hawaii energy use.  Hubs in Hawaii is a blueprint  for emulating those cities by getting people out of their cars and using a combination of rail, bus, bicycle and individual wheeled modes to move people around in a clean, super-efficient manner.  Hong Kong and other cities sell transportation cards at convenience stores.  Those cards give users access to rail, ferry and bus transport.  Users are notified when the cards run low and can be "refilled" at convenience stores.  Hawaii is moving in that direction.  Users communicate with rail and buses for up to the minute information.
