    Symbolic Ceremonies from Afar.  The host for this show is Xoe Heeney.  The guest is Barrett Agent.  


    Barrett Agent was born in Chicago, raised there and in Kenai, AK. He went to university in SoCal; graduated from Chapman University (Pre-Law); then moved to Phuket, Thailand; where he established a corporate team building consultancy which Barrett now runs remotely.

    While private individuals have been doing very simplistic forms of online weddings since the late 90’s, nobody had ever offered such a service on a commercial basis (the only thing that came close was a totally text-based, free online service that is no longer operating). Barrett also took the whole process to a higher level by using broadcasting software and video call services such as Skype and Zoom to bring the couple and himself into a customizable virtual setting.

    VOWs offers creative and open-minded couples an alternative way to celebrate their bonds, via real-time online wedding and renewal of vow ceremonies. Based on the amount of tears seen over the years, they are just as emotional as real life ceremonies!

  • Three Strikes and You're Out (Latin American Directions)

    Colombian Policy Under the New Government.  The host for this show is Nicolás Süssmann Herrán.  The guest is Álvaro Salgado.  


    In the last couple of weeks, the new Colombian government has been remarkably active in its foreign policy and international scenarios, and its actions have led to controversy. The country was absent from the OAS plenary on condemning human rights abuses in Nicaragua. The president signed a letter of support to the Argentinian vice-president, currently subject to judicial investigation and for whom a prosecutor requested 12 years in prison; and days later, it called for a negotiated agreement to the conflict in Ukraine in what seemed to equate both parties instead of condemning the Russian aggression. Finally, diplomatic relationships with Venezuela were re-established. In this show, Álvaro Salgado discusses with host Nicolás Sussmann if this is the expectation from what promised to be a new left, or more of the same where the left in Latin America turns a blind eye to the abuses of its allies to establish a solid block.
