Those of us who started our business did so to create personal freedom and do what we love. And then, somehow, we end up doing everything BUT what we love. We had a powerful discussion with an excellent business coach Melissa Kellogg Lueck. Her career and mission in life is to surround female entrepreneurs with all the community, teaching, coaching, and services they need to create the business and impact they desire.

In this episode, we spoke with Thomas Mallory Hill, Ed. D., a former accountant and head hunter who learned the hard way what “draw” means ... and turned teacher and eventually became a principal.

After decades of public education service, and praying for an increase in earnings during the summer vacation season, Thomas started a whole new career first as a part-time hustle, and recently as a full-time business. Being open-minded, when he was faced with health challenges, he started researching other than traditional alternatives - and was invited by (then) a stranger Phyllis Bond from LinkedIn to listen to a broadcast about redox cell signaling molecules. Today he calls this a gift from a stranger.

I guess we touched on everything "forbidden" - religion, politics, and race, in this talk show. I believe everyone can have a great conversation like this - when two people involved, although with totally different backgrounds, actually listen to each other and relate.

Is there anything more taboo in today’s fast-paced world than a conversation about the end of life? Yet it's one of the random “certainties“ we all share.

In today's episode, we talk with Jill McClennen, an End of Life Coach or Death Doula, and what it even means. If you never heard of such a thing, you're not alone! She founded her business called,  End of Life Clarity to provide valuable support to people facing the end-of-life reality - either those who're preparing for the end of their own life or those who need to become an end-of-life caregiver to a loved one.  

We talked openly about 

Be assured this is not all gloom and doom an episode! Jill is very personable and a joy to speak with. And although I’m all about longevity, the best quality of life possible, and keeping positive in optimal shape, I also have a personal experience of how it looks like when things are not arranged, prepared, or even discussed, and you're faced with sudden reality.

This theme may not be popular, but inevitable. I believe it's an important subject to talk about openly, and be aware of what options we have out there when we face the situation no one wants to face.

In this episode, I had the fantastic opportunity to interview a one-of-a-kind Relationship coach, Geraldine Murphy. Geraldine lives with her husband and 2 boys in the U.K.

As is typical for most Brits, (excuse me, Irish), there was lots of sarcasm, laughter, and fun during our conversation. You can judge by the title (which is also the name of a free event at the end of November that Geraldine would like to invite you to), she's not your typical serious coach you're hesitant to approach.

Humor helped her in the most awkward situations, such as being dumped by her husband when he "suddenly discovered" he was gay just a few months after their wedding - and guess what that did with her confidence at 26 (!!!), or during her dad's funeral, or when deciding if the second wedding is worth the investment.

She’s a relationship coach who helps women and couples uncover the Magic in their relationship with their partner.

How the military wasn’t her first choice growing up

Did you ever feel like you're too old for something? Did you say to yourself "Oh well, that train left the station a long time ago?"

Meet Donnellyn Dominguez ... who just earned the 2023 "Business Builder of the Year" award in her 70ties! Without being efficient with computers (she even ignores emails!)

She finished her midwifery training in her fifties (!), was the only grandmother in her class, and had become the owner of a successful birthing center for 10 years, the largest in the state of Texas. At the age others are preparing for retirement, she was on the call 24/7, fulfilling a dream she never thought possible.

But things changed drastically when she was informed about diagnoses nobody ever wanted to hear. When it came around for the 2nd time, she was given 8-13 months to live...

After her doctor's protocol was finished, with insanely expensive treatment (north of $100K a month), she then spent another $20,000 on other natural alternatives to regain her health. None returned positive results.

Being a positive person, she refused the gloomy prognoses but was losing hope quickly. We talked about what she did next, what it took, and how her amazing life story finally turned around. Don't miss this one!!!

Donnellyn is one of those people who has such a warmth around her you feel like her heart is right in the palm of her hand, as she extends it to you for a handshake. Did you ever feel that someone's resume is long enough for several lifetimes? I did when I first saw today's guest, Leland Duyck’s achievements – and in his 70s, he is nowhere near done yet!

His secret to this successful approach to life: When we were kids, If we wanted something, we worked for it. So when I saw something, I wasn’t afraid to try. I never had that fear of failing. If he ever ran into an issue or complained, his dad would say: “Just put your big boy's pants on and get it over with!”

It’s humbling to meet someone so incredibly successful, yet remaining a modest and generous human being. And, when you listen to his story, his life story was far from a smooth ride. But with his work ethic, faith, determination, and great dad’s lessons (he instilled discipline and toughness into his children), Leland not only survived but went to the top numerous times throughout his professional career.

This was an incredibly moving episode – and I challenge you to listen to the whole thing without reaching for a box of tissues! I had a hard time editing this episode with my eyes focused.

Leland Duyck is a former Orthopedic Surgical Physician Assistant, Founder/Co-Owner of a retail chain of back stores, and a Global DME/Orthopedic Sports Medicine Distribution Company for 21 years. He was also a Partner and Executive Director of Sales for 2 separate Global Orthopedic and Sports Medicine Manufacturing Facilities that were each built for 10-year stints and then sold. That is on top of his Cattle ranch that he operates alone, aside from a seasonal help he may hire for projects. At the age when others prepare for retirement, he shifted his attention to a groundbreaking technology that gave him his life back and is now a Global leader, Motivator, and Educator in the Redox Technology Field. Leland became an ASEA Triple Diamond Executive in a record 14 months. That might be the fastest achievement in the history of the company.

He has earned several awards since and entered an ASEA Millionaire Earners Club.

Tonight's interview is with a special man, Dan Doyle, one of my biggest inspirations. I'm so grateful to have the privilege to finally meet him in person last week in Dallas - and now to interview him on my upcoming podcast episode of Third Chances.

His stunning story is the main reason why I do what I do today. His determination, and open mind to try anything and not to give up, brought him literally back to life.

Imagine being an insanely successful businessman – a professional athlete, a competing bodybuilder, running and selling multiple businesses within 20 years.

Only to be brought to your knees suddenly, by completely unexpected a challenge.

Imagine doing everything right, listening to your doctors, 2 and a half years of hospital visits, only to be told to get your affairs in order!

What do you do when all else fails?

His story hits close to my heart - because as many of you know, we were in this situation with my husband, about 2.5 years ago. Tragically, we didn't find the solution fast enough, and I lost him in a short period of time. I always wonder - if I knew about this then, would this have made a difference for my husband?

Today Dan says, “I live my every day now as if it was my last one”
