Third Church Sermons

This Sunday, we’re heading into chapter 6 of the Sermon on the Mount. This is “part 2” of the main body of teaching in Jesus’ sermon, in which Jesus addresses religious practices and the importance of our motivation in doing them. He begins with giving.

We’re now winding down our study of the second section of the Sermon on the Mount (5:17-48), in which Jesus addresses his relationship to the Torah.

This week, we’ll see that Jesus wants to re-order our desire for revenge, the universal thirst to pay back evil with evil.

This Sunday, we’ll continue in our study of the Sermon on the Mount, looking at the next of the series of “case studies” in which Jesus demonstrates his relationship to the Old Testament.

As we continue our study of the Sermon on the Mount, this week we come to Jesus’ teaching on marriage and divorce.

This Sunday we'll be led by our amazing students in every aspect of our worship service. The preachers will be reflecting on a well known and beloved passage from Philippians.

This week, Jesus addresses the issues of lust, sex and adultery.

This Sunday we are continuing in our study of Jesus' teaching in the sermon on the mount, this time on the subject of anger and contempt.

This Sunday, we're back to the Sermon on the Mount! After spending this fall in the introduction (Matthew 5:1-16), we'll now get into the main body of Jesus' teaching, beginning in Matthew 5:17-20. This section of verses is actually a wonderful passage to reflect on as we begin a new year.

This weekend, we will join together to proclaim the good news of Christmas alongside our brothers and sisters. Ed will be preaching on an additional name of God, El Roi, which means "The God Who Sees."
