Third Church Sermons

This Sunday, Rick Hutton will kick off a new summer sermon series called "Pointing to the Promise." We'll be looking at some classic Old Testament stories and how they point to the great promise of God to bring his Kingdom and renew all things through the person of Jesus.

This Sunday, we’ll conclude our series “Always With You” by looking at John 17:20-26. In this passage we’ll see Jesus’ concluding prayer for his people, that we would be unified in order for the world to know that Jesus is the sent one.

This Sunday we’ll explore an aspect of this global mission by looking at the first part of Jesus’ momentous prayer in John 17.

This Sunday we'll continue in our series on John 15-17 and return to Jesus' teaching on the Holy Spirit in chapter 16. We are excited to welcome guest preacher Nathan Walton this week, who is the pastor of our sister congregation East End Fellowship.

This Sunday, we’ll dig deeper into the mystery of “remaining” in the love of God through our connection to Jesus, and what kind of life this results in- one of obedience and self-giving love.

Life on the Vine by Third Church, RVA

This Sunday we’ll continue in John 14 as Jesus addresses the person of the Holy Spirit.

This Sunday we are continuing in our new series on John chapters 14-17, “Always With You.”

As Jesus prepares to depart to the Father, leaving the disciples physically, he promises that he will come to them in a new  way through the gift of the Spirit. Because of Jesus' gift of the Spirit, we can live every day of our lives in deep communion with the risen Jesus. He is aways with us.

This Sunday we’ll begin the journey of Holy Week together as we remember Jesus’ great act of suffering love for us.
