Thirsty For More - Movie Review

Oh boy! Here we go! The surprise entry of the szn! Child's Play 3! We get near future Andy! Even though the movie was filmed recently afterwards we get a classic 90's near future rendition. Andy is a teenager now who has been in and out of foster homes and has landed in military school. Andy continues to get terrorized along with all these other children! We get a bit of lord of the flies action in this one. This one was quite a surprise and a lot better than the second movie. Very tense and high stakes! Exciting installment and the last time we see the charater of Andy (this time played by Justin Whalin).

Brothers are back with Child's Play Part 2. We get to see the continuation of Andy's tragic story. Set only a short while later from the first movie. We get a markedly more sentient and mature Andy who now has the wisdom of having gone through the insanity of being hunted by a killer doll. Played incredibly by child actor Alex Vincent. Andy has so much more heavy lifting to do in this installment. This movie has a lot of increible moments. In addition to being chased by Chucky, this time Andy is also navigating the broken foster care system with incredible appearances by iconic middle aged actors Grace Zabriski and Beth Grant. This one is often fondly remembered for its high stakes Chucky kills and the intensely creative chucky doll/human hybrid body horror but fails to be as substantive in terms of driving the story forward.

This movie follows a 6 year old Andy Barclay and his single mum (Catherine Hicks). All Andy wants for his birthday is a Good Guy doll. The hottest toy around. An interactive doll that speaks back to you with a handful of pre recroded phrases. Unbeknownst to Andy and his mum the doll she gets him is possessed by the soul of infamous Chitown strangler Charles Lee Ray (voiced by Brad Dourif). Will Andy and his mum make it out alive?

 Jason in space. Goes back to form in a way. the shlockiness is fun but ultimately banal and annoying. Fun episode though!

From toxic waste to rooftop boxing, this movie is full of insane moments that make it a guilty pleasure, even if it’s one of the weaker entries in the series. Join the brothers as they dissect the campy chaos of Jason’s city adventure and why, despite all its flaws, it’s still weirdly entertaining.

This week on Thirsty for Gore, Aleks and Milenko explore the wildness of Friday the 13th Part 7: The New Blood—or as they call it, Jason vs. Carrie! With the introduction of a telekinetic final girl and some of the gnarliest makeup effects in the series, this movie brings Jason into straight-up supernatural territory. The brothers love the creative concept, especially seeing Jason battle someone who can fight back in such an over-the-top way. But while the premise is cool and Jason’s undead look is incredible, they also have to admit the film's a mixed bag with its uneven pacing. Still, it makes for a crazy, fun ride and a great conversation about what works and what doesn't in this strange yet entertaining entry.

Aleks and Milenko are pumped this week on Thirsty for Gore as they dive into Friday the 13th Part 6: Jason Lives! After the mess of Part 5, this one brings Jason back to life (literally) in all his undead, supernatural glory. With a fresh, self-aware tone, and some of the best kills in the series, the brothers are loving the meta-humor and comic-book-style action that makes this entry one of the most fun of the franchise. It’s Jason at his coolest, and the brothers can’t wait to geek out over the return of the unstoppable slasher they know and love. Get ready for a lively, nostalgia-fueled discussion on why Jason Lives is a fan-favorite!

Things get weird this week on Thirsty for Gore as Aleks and Milenko dive into Friday the 13th Part 5: A New Beginning! This entry takes the franchise into zany, bizarre territory, with a sleazy vibe that’s no surprise given the director’s porno background. While the movie continues the intriguing Tommy Jarvis storyline, it also feels like a fever dream of questionable choices, outrageous moments, and the kind of campiness you can’t unsee. It’s a fascinatingly weird but objectively terrible film, and the brothers have an absolute blast breaking down the chaos and what it adds—if anything—to Jason lore. Get ready for a hilarious, in-depth discussion of one of the franchise’s strangest and most infamous entries!
