  • Building in a Broken World | Family Affairs Conference | Samuel Oyeyinka

“Unless the Lord builds the house, those who build it labour in vain.” — Psalm 127:1Samuel Oyeyinka reminded us that marriage isn’t just a cultural construct; it’s God’s idea, designed with a clear purpose: a man and woman united together to raise godly seed and reflect Christ’s devotion to the Church. Before we build, we must first understand God’s vision for marriage; one rooted in service and a life committed to willing the good of the other. To pray rightly, choose wisely, and build purposefully, we must begin with God.There is a rest that comes from doing marriage God’s way, one that no other path can give.Trying to build apart from His blueprint is why so much around us is broken.

  • Headship and Unity | Family Affairs Conference | Seye Maj'

Good marriages do not happen by chance, and they are not reserved for a select few.In His wisdom, God designed marriage as a beautiful gift to humanity; a means through which His will is revealed and accomplished on the earth. It is not the world that defines the purpose of marriage, nor the path to fulfilling it. That right belongs to God, the Giver of the gift.Only He can rightly instruct us in both the vision and the virtues required to live it out.One of the key foundations we learnt for a thriving marital union is genuine friendship. And in our season of singlehood, we are called to cultivate the kind of love that reflects Christ; a love that serves, honors, and uplifts others. As we build godly friendships and community, the Lord is shaping in us the character, humility, and selflessness that are essential for lasting, Christ-glorifying marriages.

  • On the Office and Rights of the Apostles | LFC Part 18 | 1 Cor 9 | Sam Oyeyinka

Learning From the Corinthians (Part 18) | 1 Cor. 9:1-18

Ministers of the gospel have a right to receive benefits from their work, based on the principle that responsibilities must come with corresponding privileges.

Flowing from this, church members are called to support and care for their leaders, giving generously from hearts of gratitude.

Church leaders, on the other hand, must not exploit their members, knowing they will give account to God for the souls under their care.

And when ministers face ill treatment from those they serve, they shouldn't abstain from doing the work of ministry, following the example of our Lord Jesus who endured suffering for our salvation.

  • On the Existence of Demons and Opinions | LFC Part 17 | 1 Cor 8 | Sam Oyeyinka

    Learning From the Corinthians (Part 17) | 1 Cor. 8:4-13 & Romans 14:1-23

In Christianity, there are essential matters over which believers can't hold different opinions, because our Lord expressly commands or forbids them in His Word.

However, there are secondary matters over which believers may hold different opinions based on biblical principles.

The Corinthian Church faced one such secondary issue: eating food offered to idols. Some felt this was acceptable since idols are nothing compared to the one true God. Others believed eating such food was equivalent to idol worship.

How should we respond to similar differences in the Body of Christ today?

    1) Show compassion to fellow believers with different views, rather than quarrelling with them, remembering that we're all growing in knowledge.

    2) Willingly lay down your right if exercising it will cause a fellow believer to stumble.

In doing so, we walk in love towards our brothers and sisters, just as our Lord commanded.
