Pastor Sam continues the teaching series on the Spirit of the Sabbath.

In this teaching, Pastor Sam reiterates that the Spirit of the Sabbath is to demonstrate your absolute devotion to God by saying NO to everything else.

We further examine the two forms of Idolatry:

Monotheism Idolatry, which is replacing the supreme place of God in one's life with something else i.e Saying "Yes" always to something else apart from God

Polytheism Idolatry, which is holding other things in the supreme position as you do God, i.e. Saying "Yes" to other things as you also say "Yes" to God. The inability to say "No" to anything else makes those things an idol, even if you keep saying "Yes" to God. This form is the most subtle and pernicious.

In this scholarship Wednesday teaching, we examine the Muratorian Fragment.

The Muratorian fragment is a document that was written in the 2nd century but discovered in the 17th century. It was discovered by the Italian Historian, Father Muratori. However, the authorship of the document is unknown.

In this study, Pastor Sam explains how this document is a great document that adds to the authenticity of the canon of the scriptures and the inerrancy of the scriptures.

Pastor Sam begins a new series on the Spirit of the Sabbath. 

In this series, we begin by examining why God gives the instructions he does. We understand that he gives good commandments because it is consistent with His good nature because what He says is who He is.

Pastor then explains the spirit of the commandment to keep the Sabbath as a teaching on consecration and our ability to say no to other affairs and yes to God. 

We further see that consecration through the Sabbath is a teaching tool to help us avoid idolatry. What we can't say no to replaces God's position in our hearts and drives us farther away from God. Idolatry is anything that lowers our view of God and keeps us from achieving the purpose for which God created us.

Pastor Seye concludes this two-part series on the character of God. In this part, we see God's character as merciful and compassionate. He emphasizes that God's merciful acts in the scriptures are an outworking of His character. God's attributes describe God at the core of who He is. 

We also examine God's faithfulness as His character. We see God as reliable, dependable, and stable. He doesn't break character.

During this Charis Sunday, Pastor Sam teaches us what the means of grace is for believers. 

He teaches the means of grace to be the supernatural ability God supplies to fulfill His plans for our lives. 

He teaches that grace is not just salvation but also includes the means God supplies the ability to do His purpose. 

He emphasizes that we can't be ignorant of such means and receive the grace supplied by such means. 

These means are ways God has given us to present ourselves and become more aware of the grace available to us.

Examples of such means are the Eucharist, the Church, Laying on of Hands, Baptism, Hymns, and Spiritual songs amongst others.

He encourages us to be fully aware and make the most of these means to further strengthen our convictions.

She also examines why Jesus asked to be baptized of John knowing that Jesus was without sin and had nothing to repent of.

Pastor Sam concludes this teaching series on God's disposition to prosperity for the believer with 3 conducts a believer should have towards money. First, he teaches that a believer should not have their sight on making money rather, we should be purpose-oriented. He also teaches that God blesses the works of our hands as we walk in purpose so we must not be idle, we must seek to improve on our craft and maximize our ability continually. Lastly, he taught to be content with what walking in God's will for our lives affords us.
