Suuperhero STATIC SHOCK! A resident of the Milestone Universe, Virgil Hawkins is the superhero Static. A universe populated with predominantly black superheroes. Through Static you can discover all types of new stories like ICON and BLOOD SYNDICATE. We delve into a story about black characters told by black creators on this celebration of Black History Month. Hopefully, one day, during this show we can delve into black stories through comics damn near every episode. There just aren't enough and I believe it is the great shame of comics. Until there are more black creators, we need to celebrate what we have.

Ever wanted to get into comics? Think it's all too complicated? Well the best way to start is one issue at a time. Comics are a medium of patience. When you read a brand new story that you fall in love with, you usually have to wait a month for the next one. I won't make you wait that long. Comics are not about "knowing everything from the beginning". You might jump in right in the middle of a story and have to hunt for the other issues to complete it. That's okay. However, with the advent of digital comics, its so much easier to read the classic stories that otherwise are hard to get. Hopefully you can use this podcast as a jumping off point into the wonderful world of comic books.
