We're back! 

Well, Ted is at least.  Josh is taking an extended leave of absence.  He took waaaaaay too much peyote at Burning Man this year, and let's just say he is on a vision quest.  Or rumspringa.  Or a walkabout.  Whatever it is, he is happy and well, faithful listener, have no fear.  So, during Josh's sabbatical, Ted decided to soldier on, and invited some guest co-hosts to fill in while Josh is discovering himself.  This week it's Carlin.  Who is Carlin, you ask?  Ted met Carlin going through his trash one night.  Ted though Carlin was a racoon, Carlin thinks Carlin is an astrophysicist and Nobel laureate.  Who is Ted to judge?  Nobody, that's who! 

So, Stupid Nation, sit back and enjoy Ted and Carlin discuss the cosmos, some favorite movie quotes, and the quandaries of pumping one's own gas.

Hey Stupidheads! 

This week, Josh and Ted talk about the dread Black Fish.  Josh saw the movie, Ted didn't.  Ted was scared.  Ted doesn't like the orca.  Ted doesn't like to talk about it.  Josh went to see the documentary about so-called killer whales that has animal lovers all in a tizzy.  Apparently it's pretty good.  The guys also talk about seafood and Inuit survival strategies. 

Ted played Angry Birds throughout this entire episode. 

This week Josh and Ted get real with Riddick.  Third (and hopefully final) film in the Richard B. Riddick trilogy came out recently and Ted just had to torture his eyeballs with some popcorn sci-fi madness.  Josh declined to watch the movie, per usual.  He is much smarter than Ted.  The guys break down the film and discuss the strange, bounty hunter-ful future of the Riddick universe.

Hey chivers!  This week we finally got around to recording the first ever DC Chivecast.  Ted is joined in the rooftop studio at One Stupid Plaza by venerable DC Chive administrators Shawn and Lewis to discuss all things chive.  If you aren't familiar with the global phenomenon that is the Chive, or if you are new to the community, listen closely and maybe you will get to soak up some of the magic through the scientific principal of    osmosis.  If you already chive, then please, by all means, chive on.

This week, Josh and Ted rap about the new Britromzomrobocom, The World's End.  This movie wraps up the so-called "Cornetto Trilogy" by the comedic team of Edgar Wright, Nick Frost and Simon Pegg, and it really is the cherry on top.  Ted explains the movie to Josh, Josh doesn't get it as usual and loses interest in the dicussion within the first 30 seconds.  Hilarity ensues.  Then they talk about pub food.

This week, due to a lack of homework on Josh and Ted's respective parts, there was no film viewing.  So the guys decided to roll out one of their new, shiny genre episodes!  On this episode, Josh and Ted talk about their favorite horror movies, where horror fits into the world of cinema and basically whatever else is on their minds.  Enjoy! 

This week, Josh and Ted step into the shiny dystopia of Neil Blomkamp's newest film, Elysium.  The guys break down the themes of the film and Ted gains a whole new perspective.  Also, they sink their teeth into some delicious discussion of Brazilian cuisine, mainly because they assume that's what the poor people in the nuevo-favelas of the future will be cramming into their irradiated gullets.
