Content without strategy is a waste of time. In This is Video School, we’ll cover how different strategies apply to different platforms. In module 4, you’ll see how to get really specific with your Instagram strategy. Stories, reels, lives we’ll cover it all!
One thing about the course that is a major benefit is that it’s growing and changing with social media changes. If we know one thing, it’s that social media makes big changes to algorithms without much (if any!) prior notice. Throughout this course, you’ll be creating a strategy that makes sense for you and your business. But at any point when you decide it’s not working, or that the platform has changed, you can revisit the course and revisit what you’ve created to make sure it’s still serving you and your audience.
This is Video School includes sample posting schedules and examples of different types of posts. Like when you’re ready to really sell your product/offer there are specific strategies you can utilize to make sales.

In this episode, my student Mark, a realtor, shares why he decided to uplevel his video content and purchase This is Video School. He started utilizing video content for his real estate business heavily in 2016. But in 2020, he started noticing the shift to short-form videos. He happened to see my video content and realized that This is Video School would be a perfect fit for him to learn the ins and outs of newer content styles.
He wanted to learn how to convey a strong message in a short period of time. Mark goes into how This is Video School taught him ways to make his edits tighter and how to word things in a really concise way that still gives the same meaning.
Before the course, Mark had amazing videos that showcased the homes he was listing. But they were longer and they didn’t weave storytelling into them. He says that This is Video School helped get him into the mindset of looking at everything he does day to day and using it as content to tell a story.

Selling on-camera can feel really nerve-wracking. You want to get your point across without feeling pushy or sleazy. It’s a delicate balance, but no worries, because this is something covered in This is Video School!
There are different types of sales pitches and they’re detailed in the course with examples so that you can utilize them in your content. There are appropriate times to implement certain ones and times when that type of pitch isn’t the best way to communicate with your audience. You’ll get to know each type and how you can best use them in your sales process.
You’re also going to learn how to sell concisely and without the extra fluff. People can tend to oversell and complicate the process. Most of the time short clear pieces of content are going to make your sales better than a long explanation.
This is Video School also covers launch and promotion strategies so that you can plan properly for success!

Let’s get real. If you have low views on your videos, it’s because people aren’t stopping their scroll to watch your content. But how do you change that? Great question! We’re digging into the strategies that stop people and get their attention.
The biggest mistake I see people make is starting their videos completely still. You need to be moving slightly, even leaning into the camera a bit, to show that there is something coming that they’ll want to engage with. Just a little bit of movement could make or break your video so it’s important to keep that top of mind when recording.
The next thing you want to do is utilize your body language to keep the viewers' attention. This is where your gestures and posture are important and need to match your message to convey it properly. Even your voice patterns play into this. There is a module in This is Video School that really goes in depth into how body language, gestures, and voice patterns can help you develop an eye-catching style that is true to you.
The implementation of all these elements is going to differ for each person. That’s why the course spends a lot of time developing your style to attract the right audience to your content.

One major mindset shift that will help you conquer any on-camera fears is to think of yourself as talking to one person. This helps you relax and really connect with your message. It also will make your content more casual and conversational.
The connection between your content and your audience is vital to keep them coming back and engaging. This isn’t something that you can develop in a few videos. This is something you want to keep revisiting. If you’re watching your old videos and not cringing then you’re not growing. That’s not a good sign!
You want to see growth over time and keep developing your on-camera skills and comfort level so that you can keep that strong connection with your audience. In This is Video Skill, I even break down videos of famous people to show you how they’re connecting with their audience. Everything from their voice patterns, facial expressions, and body language you’ll see broken down to what works for them and why.

Think of some of your favorite people to follow on social media… why do you like them? Why do you continue to follow them and consume their content?
There’s a reason. Maybe it’s their sense of humor or authenticity, but somehow they’ve made a connection to you.
This is Video School puts a major emphasis on figuring out what makes you different than the rest of your industry. This looks different for every individual, at every level. But helping you get out of your comfort zone is very important.
If you make a real connection with your audience, they’re going to be sliding into your DMs to purchase and taking your CTAs seriously.

In the first episode, you’ll learn more about me and my background, and how This is Video School came to be. In 2019, I knew I wanted to simplify my life. I took my background as a reporter and television news anchor and created a program to teach people how to grow their own online businesses from their phones.
You really don’t have to get fancy to make money with videos. With video content becoming more and more popular on social media, I got really excited to share what I already knew about video content and how it can impact a business. It’s not only for marketing, it can also be used to build trust and find new clients and customers. My goal is to help you show up as who you really are and use your personality to find ideal clients and customers. You want to use what makes you unique so you stand out to the right people.
My goal is not only for you to be the real you but also for you to be able to save time so that you know exactly what you're going to record that day, and how you're going to record it. I also want you to do it in a way that doesn't require a lot of time for you to edit after you're finished recording.
