In keeping up with the Avengers theme, following one of the most successful films in the world - End Game, Nate asks his audience to consider what superhero they'd want to be. Do you have the qualities of Bat Man, Iron Man, Superman, Wonder Woman, Captain Marvel, or Thor? DC and Marvel aside, could you live a life of a superhero, upholding stellar characteristics while feeling a bit alien? Could you be everything to everyone? Likewise, in respect to spring blossoms and Arizona succulents, would you live your life like the manzanita or the Agave Americana? Are you dependable, or are you the proverbial 15 seconds of fame? Nate shares some personal moments and provides his answers hoping there is time for everyone to ruminate on their own answers. Episode #3 is another serious topic, perhaps, following the second episode discussing God, but it's necessary. If it necessary for you, that's fine, it isn't for you. This is a chance to get some things off Nate's chest. It might be better knowing nobody is listening.
In this second segment of "This Is What We Call Nate," Nate shares five instances of what he has known as God. From the DMZ to the Arizona desert, a higher spirit has watched over and, in some cases, played a part in Nate's life, so he feels. Here, over a cup of coffee and the comfort of his home, he confides in listeners and shares details - silly and sad, and most definitely cathartic.
Episode #1 is definitely a first draft, a rambling of sorts, experimenting with audio, devices, topics, and afternoon indulgences with a first ever podcast/audio supplement. Nate is finding his voice before bringing on guests, and this afternoon, amidst volunteering for his children's school, selling a Barry Bonds rookie card on Ebay, and swilling IPA, he discovers he is willing and able. If not, it's a great way to hash things out and harvest memories for the page.
