December 16, 2015This Movie Was A Hot Dog #31- Star Wars Episode III: Revenge of the SithHot Dog #31- This week my and Matt’s pandering to you the audience, and playing into the Star Wars hype machine finally comes to an end. We finish the prequel trilogy by watching 2005's “Star Wars Episode III: Revenge of the Sith", directed by the devil himself aka George Lucas. This film had us asking such questions as; did we all go see this movie in the theater because we felt obligated to? How have the 1.3 million clone soldiers not all died yet? Why is Count Dooku even in this movie? What the hell is the floating water, mermaid ballet thing Palpatine is watching? What is General Grevious’s motivation other than “he is bad guy” ? What denomination of coin was used to determine what characters would be CGI and what characters would be real ? Why does a nurse robot understand the concept of human emotions ? Why is Anakin such whiney little boy throughout the movie where he is supposed to become the most feared sith enforcer of the empire? Speaking of the empire, why is the republic restructured into an empire after it survived a coup and a civil war? And of course, WHY! WHY GEORGE LUCAS, WHY ?!? ! Join us for this Hot Dog! Why are Jedi nothing more than space cops? Why is there an American 1950’s diner a long time ago in a galaxy far, far away? Is count DooKu secretly a good guy begging for help? How much CGI is too much CGI? Why does an assassin who can shape shift never shapeshift? Why did Matt think this was the best of the prequel? Why is Jar Jar Binks the catalyst for the end of democracy in the galaxy? And of course, WHY! WHY GEORGE LUCAS, WHY ?!? ! Join us for this Hot Dog! This film had us asking such questions as; how exactly does a 14 year old girl become the elected queen of entire planet? Why is the fact that Anakin is a “Force Jesus” not nearly as important to the characters as it seems? Why is the return of a sith not really worrying anyone? November 17, 2015This Movie Was A Hot Dog #28- Hamburger: The Motion PictureHot Dog #28- This week Frank-cis and I watched 1986's teen sex comedy, “Hamburger: The Motion Picture,” directed by Mike Marvin and starring Leigh McCloskey. This film had us asking such questions as; does this fast food 12 week managerial course really count as a “University” just because it’s called “Hamburger University”? Why does the guy who is turning into a chicken, just sort of stop turning into a chicken? Is a nun also allowed to own and operate a fast food franchise, while still being a nun? Why is there an entire course dedicated to chopping onions? Is the only way for a fat person to prevent themselves from eating to violently electrocute themselves? Will the combined farts of 20 morbidly obese fat people blow up a building? And other questions! Join us for this Hot Dog! Edited by- Zach, Music by Nick April....more48minPlay
November 09, 2015This Movie Was A Hot Dog #27- Redneck ZombiesHot Dog #27- This week Frank-cis and I watched 1986's “Redneck Zombies", which is *technically* a movie! This film had us asking such questions as; can you really call something like this a “film” if it was shot on VHS, what parts of this movie are supposed to intentional funny, and what parts are just bad in a silly way? That last question is serious, I really can’t tell. What do people find appealing about Troma films? Does the image of children drinking alcohol only get funnier the more times you see it? Why are two separate distribution and production companies involved in this? Why would Frank-cis pick this? And other questions! Join us for this Hot Dog!
