in this episode we talk about how Apple operated under Steve Jobs and how they currently operate under Tim Cook. 

Under Steve Jobs it seemed like Apple was a design / creative company that happened to make technology... taking risks, creating products that made you think "how had no one thought of this?!" and working hard to make products easy for the consumer. 

Under Tim Cook it seems like Apple is... a well-run business. 

We talk about how Steve seemed to keep competition inward focused, pushing hard for Apple to eventually make their current products obsolete; and how that ultimately created some great technology in the process. 

Along those lines, it seems like interest in the newest iPhone (the 13) is the lowest in recent years, so we talk about that and discuss what Apple's latest "technological breakthrough" was.

We dive into the 1965 Frank Herbert Sci-Fi classic, DUNE! We also each give it a 1-10 star rating as well as a sci-fi only rating, and the scores vary quite a bit!

we talk about the history of commercials and also discuss whether they could be useful storytelling tools, especially in the television setting. the streaming environment changed out intake of commercials (putting them on YouTube videos, before podcasts, etc) but that isn't ALWAYS a bad thing. 

we briefly discuss how and why commercials, for the most part, nowadays are ridiculous and terrible. and we also talk about our favorite and most memorable commercials of all time.
