This Podcast Is... Uncalled For

Carl Fletcher is the latest Shawnee Mission West alum to join us on the podcast, calling in from southern Oregon. Carl (aka Big C) was on the football team with Mike and was the first guest on the podcast to play on Mike's Ski Dogs intramural basketball team. Here Mike and Carl catch up and talk about life.

In June 2023, Mike was asked to give a lesson on chess notation to his fellow chess instructors. With everyone's consent beforehand, he recorded the lesson for the podcast - and now you get to listen to it.

Both Mike and Braden participate in the "gig economy." When they're not doing the podcast, they're either bringing your food to you or coming to give you a ride to wherever you want to go. Today, they share their thoughts on working these part-time needs-based jobs.

Gun violence is a real problem in the United States. Mike and Braden discuss.

Today Mike shares his thoughts on lung cancer and efforts to fund its research. Mike has had two mentors in his life battle this disease, one of whom passed away from it.

If you can, please donate to any charity that deals with lung cancer and its research. We recommend giving your donation to the Lung Cancer Research Foundation:
