This Podcast Is... Uncalled For

Today, we remember someone important to the podcast's history and talk about Mike's recent trip to the hospital (he'll be fine, folks).

Join us July 15 through 31 at the 2022 Kansas City Fringe Festival!!

We'll be recording interviews for the podcast LIVE in front of a live audience.

All five of our shows will be performed at the Black Box On Troost (BOT), located at 4001 Troost Avenue in Kansas City, MO.  Go to kcfringe.org for show times, tickets, and additional information.

In 2022, we'll do it live.

In the Season 4 finale, Mike talks about how he lost his faith, how 9/11 played a role in it, and how a recent social media exchange brought these thoughts to the surface for this edition of the podcast.

Today we impart some wisdom upon you all... April Fools!!

Major League Baseball should be played Downtown, period. It sounds like the Kansas City Royals may have finally caught on to this simple truth. And, for the sake of our intrepid host - who has been calling for the local baseball team to move Downtown for 20 YEARS! - let's hope it finally happens.

International Podcast Day is September 30 - and this year we did a 2 hour long Zoom call where we read an email about how to celebrate the event, recommend some more podcasts, and try our hand at a few quizzes at Sporcle.com.

In 2012, Mike started down the podcasting path when he was asked to help produce Sunflower Brew, a podcast on Kansas politics and craft beers. In this episode, Mike revisits the podcast that started it all with some of his favorite moments - and how it led to the naming of this particular podcast.

We have a real problem here in America. We've become way too car dependent and need to start transitioning to more environmentally - and less costly - alternatives like public transit.

In this episode, Mike talks about a recent (and very costly) experience with auto repair and laments the lack of reliable public transit in the Kansas City metro area.

Today's interview is with Jeffrey Johnson, who Mike first worked with in 2016 on rap videos. They talk today about those experiences and how they helped shape their lives today.

On July 12, 2021 a flood of details came out from the St. Louis v. NFL lawsuit - all of which are bad for the NFL. Mike reads a few articles and tweets on the subject, and provides his own thoughts.

We are fully aware that this is coming out at about the same time the lawsuit is scheduled to go to trial.
