Some ideas about why we compare, why it can be so harmful, and what we can therefore do about it are explored in this podcast.Ā
I explain the reasons behind our tendency to compare ourselves to others, examining both the psychological and social factors that play a role in this common behaviour. Additionally, I discuss the potential negative impacts that constant comparison can have on our mental health and self-esteem, highlighting the importance of recognising these patterns in our daily lives.Ā
I suggest practical tips and strategies that you can implement to help break free from this cycle of comparison and foster a more positive self-image. If you'd like to talk about any of the issues raised in this podcast or have any questions, do feel free to get in contact with me.Ā

In this discussion, we explore the various steps involved in establishing your own private therapy practice, from the initial planning stages to effective marketing strategies that can help you attract clients and how media work might play a role in this.Ā
I've now recorded videos about both setting up and developing your practice available on my YouTube channel that you can also take a look at. These videos are designed to complement the podcast and offer even more detailed guidance on each aspect of the process.Ā
I also work with people on a one-to-one coaching basis who want to make this career change, guiding them through the complexities of setting up and growing their practices successfully.Ā

Have you ever been told to ājust stay positiveā or ālook on the bright sideā when youāre struggling? In this podcast, Iāll explain what toxic positivity is and why constantly ignoring or denying our real emotions can be harmful to our mental health.
While positivity has its place, thereās a big difference between embracing optimism and shutting down valid feelings. Iāll share why itās so important to allow ourselves (and others) to feel the full range of emotions and how acknowledging these feelings is essential for true well-being, so we can support ourselves and others in a more balanced way
In this podcast, Iāll cover:
- What toxic positivity is and why itās problematic
- The impact of denying or ignoring difficult emotions
- Healthier ways to approach emotional well-being

How can someone connect with their bisexual identity while in a relationship that appears "straight"? Following my contribution to a Metro piece for Pride Month, Iāve recorded this podcast to offer more explanation and advice on this topic.Ā
Bisexuality means that someone can get their emotional and physical needs met by multiple genders, and this doesnāt change just because theyāre in a relationship that seems heterosexual. In this podcast, Iāll dive deeper into what it means to navigate this identity, the importance of understanding bisexuality in different relationship contexts, and some guidance on how to embrace your identity while honouring your relationship.
Feel free to reach out if youād like to talk about any of the issues raised in this podcast. Iād also love to hear your thoughts and any helpful tips or advice and comments for others going through a similar experience! š¬
