Welcome to Episode 31 of the This Was An Assignment Podcast! Nickolas Slade in the building! Nick is one of my good friends that I’ve been able to spend a lot of time with this summer. One thing we really connect on is our love for hobbies. Nick and I share a few hobbies in common, but one of the main ones is riding dirt bikes. We talk about dirt bikes, surfing, skiing, construction, general contracting, and many other topics in this episode. Nick is a well rounded guy who knows a lot of stuff about a lot of stuff. Welcome to Episode 30 of the This Was An Assignment Podcast! This episode was an especially fun one for me to do. Ashton has been a friend of mine for a long time, but today I had the opportunity to really dive into what makes him tick. I found out that politics are something that he is fascinated by, which is something that has been hard for me to learn about. I’m thankful for people like him to push me to learn and grow and become more well rounded. Welcome to Episode 28 of the This Was an Assignment Podcast. For this week’s episode we mixed things up a bit! I had the opportunity (I use that word loosely) to go on a 4 day backpacking/survival trip with my dad, Chad Woolley, and my brother-in-law, Trent Park. We decided to test our grit against the sometimes very unforgiving Uinta mountains. We met at Christmas Meadows Wednesday evening, where we dropped off a truck. Then our driver, JP, took us to the Highline Trailhead. It was there that our adventure began. We hiked from there to Jordan Lake, stayed a night, and then did some “Back Country Chaddin” and hiked towards Rocky Sea Pass. Once over the pass, we hiked to Black Lake, where we caught some fish and enjoyed a night. Saturday morning, we woke up, caught more fish, then hiked to Lightning Lake. It was there that we had lunch, and sized up the hardest part of the weekend: “Bad Ass Pass”. After a good 3 hours, we finally made it over the pass into Amethyst Basin, and stayed our last night. After that, we woke up and hiked another 6ish miles out, to Christmas Meadows, where our trusty truck awaited our arrival. It was an incredible journey. Throughout the journey we recorded snippets for the podcast, telling what we did and how it went. I hope you enjoy!

Welcome to Episode 26 of the This Was An Assignment Podcast! I am so stoked to have my good friend Josey Spangler (Herbert) on the show! We had a great talk about life as of late for her. Josey is now living in Florida, navigating terrible drivers, good pizza, and some potentially intense hurricanes. We had a great chat about her wedding right when the Corona Virus hit, and what it was like dealing with the effects of the earthquake that hit the same day.
