US-Israeli strikes on Iran have continued for a second day, following the killing of Iran's Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei and several senior leaders. Iran has retaliated by firing missiles and drones at Israel, as well as targets across the Gulf Arab states.

Dozens of people have been killed in Iran and Israel, while the US has confirmed three American soldiers have been killed.

Meanwhile, Iran has selected a 66-year-old cleric to join the country's three-member leadership council until a new supreme leader is selected.
