In Wilderness and Mountain Lore explores the stories and adventures of visiting a mountain wilderness retreat over a fifty-year period with a group of friends. We nearly always were able to reserve the only two cabins for the second week of June. Domke Lake is located in the North Cascades wilderness area of North Central Washington State. The Bible links the "day of the Lord" to when God shakes the earth terribly and signs point to 2023 for the beginning of what many Christians believe is 7 years of tribulation like the 7 years of Joseph's famine in Egypt.

God punished Egypt for enslaving Israel, throwing their babies in the river. The US has enslaved most people in negative lifestyles and has thrown 63 million babies in the trash. The Exodus was a jubilee event with freedom for slaves. Jubilee was the 50th year and 2023 is 50 years from Roe v Wade.


This is one of the several timelines pointing to 2023 for end-times to begin. Christ gave signs for when to flee the city of Jerusalem and we have seen those signs for our time when we should consider getting out of the cities that will soon be a lock-down situation worse than the pandemic brought.


A year early is better than a day late. It may take some faith to believe big trouble is coming, but "wait and see" can mean a total loss. The times impending sort whether we seek to obey God or do our own thing. It will be a time of judgment, which is the translation of the Greek word, krisis.


But it's not all doom and gloom. "As the days of Noah," there was good news, but it took faith to see Noah's boat as good news. So it is now! As Abraham Lincoln said, Let us study and get ready. Our chance is coming.

Five high school students, who have been life-long friends, have been given an English/History assignment for the end of the school year. It was decided to do their assignment on the Civil War era and how the people lived in the middle of a war. They knew they wouldn't have a live soldier, who had been in the Civil War as a reference, but that's when one of the boys in the group told them his cousin, who lives in the North Georgia mountains, had made a time-machine. The others, while skeptical, finally decided they could, at least, look at this machine. What they saw when going to see the home-made time-machine was beyond belief as they gazed at what the cousin had made. The cousin told them he made it for a joke, and the high school students had no plan to go inside the strange contraption until they heard a scary noise making them run inside to hide from the odd noise. That's when their adventure of a lifetime began as they learned a valuable lesson from long ago.
