Mal Vincent sat down recently with Hollywood icon Warren Beatty, who shared a side of himself you might not have heard before. We’ll also find out what silver screen legend Mae West once told Beatty and which verse is really about him in Carly Simon’s song “You’re So Vain.”

Mal Vincent was recently awarded the Vianne B. Webb Lifetime Achievement Award for his 50-plus years of arts support in Hampton Roads, by the Cultural Alliance of Greater Hampton Roads.

This week, Mal Vincent tells us about four new films that have stories based on events from small towns in Virginia and they’re not about Virginia history’s brightest moments.

Airline pilot Chesley “Sully” Sullenberger soared to hero status when he saved the lives of all 155 people aboard an airliner, landing it on the Hudson River years ago. Sullenberger’s story is now in theaters as “Sully” and in this week’s Mal’s World, Mal Vincent reveals his encounters with the Captain prior to “the miracle on the Hudson.”

Pulitzer Prize-Winning American Playwright Edward Albee passed away on September 16, 2016 at age 88. Albee began his prominence as a playwright around the same time as Mal Vincent started his own career as a theatre critic. Albee shared some words of inspiration with Mal over the years after their chance meeting at the opening of one of Albee’s plays on Broadway.
